Bad Moon Rising

Golly! It’s another fantastic day! The weather people promised a spring, if not summer, like day. A full night’s sleep didn’t hurt either. I went to bed and fell asleep last night at 1030pm. That all but guaranteed that I‘d get my normal 7 hrs. I seem to function perfectly with 7.25 hrs. Because it was so beautiful, I dubbed it a BM’er day once again. My work day was busy and seemed to moved right along. I had a couple of conference calls that framed my morning and afternoon so adhering to my schedule was of extreme importance. I left for my run right on time, 1215pm. The weather was superb and allowed for comfortable running in shorts and a tank top – real nice for mid-October! The afternoon went by with little fanfare yet the pace was still steady. I wanted to leave on time so that I could do my Tuesday lawn chores if I so desired. And because day light is pretty much gone by 700pm this week, that would require non-stop action at home. With that in mind I was out of the office right at 5pm. In turn, I was home and done with my usual routine by 540pm. Now I was at a crossroad. Do I do lawn chores or do I bag it and do something more relaxing? I already knew that sometime this evening I would be visiting daughter Lindsey and Lil’ Rocky, in part to drop off the new clothes I had bought him a week ago, and also simply to visit, which I admittedly don’t do enough. But for that visit I wouldn’t want to leave my house until 630 or so in an effort to give rush hour traffic time to dissipate. Ultimately, I decided to can the lawn chores in favor of a slower paced evening. Instead I decided to snuggle in my reading chair and finish The Power of Now. Once I was finished I took a quick nap of about 5 minutes. Felt great! At 630pm I readied for a trip to Lindsey’s. I grabbed the new clothes, my camera, and phone. I decided to just drop in rather than call first. However, she had an idea that I was coming since she called me earlier in the day. I was on my way in a matter of minutes. On my way, I called my old boss, Ralph Molter, who had called me on a number of occasions in the past year. I miss him. He was/is one hell of a guy! We chatted about a number of things. He seems really happy being semi-retired. I showed up at Lindsey’s house sometime around 645pm. Lil’ Rocky was not very happy to see me as usual despite me bearing gifts. For whatever reason, he cries every time he sees me. Lindsey seemed happy to see me though. We chatted for about half an hour. Before leaving, I gave Linz a little cash and snapped about five pics of the two of them. Rocky fell sleep before I left. On my way home I was mesmerized by the rising moon. It was unbelievable. In fact, if you subscribe to the Columbus Dispatch, they had a picture on the front page of Wednesday’s edition of the unusually large orange moon rising over our downtown skyscrapers. Awesome! Back home I spent the next hour or two blogging and playing guitar before going to bed. It felt good to just chill out!!! Song of The Day: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bad Moon Rising I see the bad moon arising. I see trouble on the way. I see earthquakes and lightnin’. I see bad times today. Don’t go around tonight, Well, it’s bound to take your life, There’s a bad moon on the rise. I hear hurricanes ablowing. I know the end is coming soon. I fear rivers over flowing. I hear the voice of rage and ruin. All right! Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we’re in for nasty weather. One eye is taken for an eye.
