Not a Barley Friday...

Holy Cow! The pre dawn sky was as clear as the Caribbean sea. How clear was it? It was so clear that you could see the entire moon even though the lower sliver was the only illuminated section. It was so clear that I could see the bottom - huh??? I got out of bed a little late again. I know that's getting to be the norm here lately but I seem to be getting everything done and getting to work on time. I'll fix it soon though. Believe it or not, it was only 42 degrees when I got up! Shit, ten degrees cooler and it could be snowing. Are you ready? I'm certainly not! Mexico anyone??? A Glennism: Tomorrow I'll be able to say that I'll be in Oregon for Thanksgiving next month, and when I return it will be four weeks Until Christmas and five weeks from a new year. I skated through my work out, walk, meditation, and daily food prep. Before I knew it I was on my way to work. Again, another gorgeous early fall day was unfolding. I could only hope that it would be an equally nice work day. My Friday at he office began innocently enough. In fact, it was eerily quiet, unlike most Friday's. I took the early part of the day as it came. Nothing too overwhelming happened. I left for my run sometime around 1230pm. Like a broken record, I know, but my run was awesome! It was Sunny, blue skies, moderate temps, and a slight breeze! My afternoon in the office began to get a little bumpy, which isn't out of the ordinary for a Friday afternoon. We had several key issues to deal with before we could call it a day. Even so, I managed to get out of the office around 515pm. Hooray! It's the weekend! I called Mindy on my way home. She had called me sometime around 4pm but I was knee deep in alligator poop, and I had a couple of folks in my office. We firmed plans for our date tonight. We still didn't define the venue, but what we did know was that we'd be spending some much deserved time together. Once home I took care of my usual things, read, practiced a little guitar, and then tried to nap. As soon as I dozed off the phone rang. It was work related. They wanted to escalate an issue that we were working when I left. Crap! It took me a few minutes to get my bearings and get back in the work mode. I did and we quickly put the issue to rest. I had planned to pick up Mindy sometime between 7-730pm at her place. Despite the cool evening temps we agreed to take the BM'er. That would be invigorating! Once on the road Mindy decided where we'd be going. We were headed to the Old Mohawk in German Village. This is a fairly trendy and popular place with a real comfortable atmosphere. It turned out to be a fantastic choice! While I'm thinking about it, it's true I didn't make it to Barley's, but it wasn't a big deal. After all, Bob and Mary Ann wouldn't be there tonight, and Thad and Monica haven't been in on a Friday for a while. Besides, it was good to do something different and share my evening with Mindy. We had some food and a couple of drinks. After we finished, we headed back to my house to hang out for a few. We had a really nice time talking and hot tubbing! And, no, we didn't take our swim suits off! Hell, we never even had them on!!! Kidding - or am I? The night went pretty quick. I took Mindy home around 3am. I didn't get back home till 330am and went right to bed so that I could get up at a reasonable time and do my run as well as everything else I had planned.
