...Anywhere in Seconds
Well, well, well, after six blah, drab and gray days we finally got a reprieve. This morning’s sky was crystal clear. A sight we haven’t seen in quite a while. And I was motivated that much more by the incredibly nice morning! I was up at my usual 530am-ish exercising, walking Sparky, meditating, packing my lunch and making my breakfast. And because of the much improved weather conditions I had already dubbed the day a BM’er day!
There’s little that compares to the feeling of driving with the top down and the sun shining. Plus, I love the feeling of driving a road with sweeping curves where the tires hug the road tighter than a frightened baby hugs its momma. I was feeling ornery this morning!
We had department meetings scheduled at work today, one in the morning and another in the afternoon in hopes of getting everyone together. Anyone who’s ever worked in a 24X7 center knows how challenging that can be. Despite the challenges, we pulled it off. I knew we would. I got out for my run right at 1215pm. What a pleasure it was to run in the sun! Too, I was wise enough to remember my shorts and tank today.
The afternoon flew by and before I knew it, it was time to head home for guitar lessons. I had been looking forward to this lesson in particular because I would for the first time be learning some actual songs I like. Josh showed up at 605pm. While I waited, I finished all my routine tasks. Josh didn’t come as prepared as perhaps I had hoped but we still plugged away at Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb and Cold Play’s Green Eyes. I’m gonna email him some others. It’s amazing to me how he can simply listen to a song once maybe twice and begin playing it. That’ll be me some day! Is that Envy??? Geesh… I hope not!! We wrapped up around 710pm.
I called Mindy to discuss our plan to hook up. The plan was for me to head over to her home tonight for a few. I was starving, she wasn’t I decided that I was going to do the unthinkable and stop at Burger King on my way to her house. I haven’t been there in almost two years, I‘ll bet. I ordered a Bacon Double Cheese Burger for me and picked up a chocolate milk shake for Mindy. And yes, I drove my BM’er. It was still very nice despite the darkness. Mindy was in the middle of putting her children to bed when I arrived so I began eating my BK.
Bella (Isabella), her three year old daughter came down to see me. I offered her a french fry, she pretty much decided that my entire Value meal was hers. :-) She’s a real cutie! A little about Bella... Mindy adopted Bella from Guatemala when she was three months old. She just turned three. She loves Dora everything. And she definitely loves her mommy.
I stayed at Mindy’s until about 1120pm. Needless to say, I was going to be tired tomorrow.
Song of the Day: Bigger Stronger, Cold Play
I wanna be bigger, stronger, drive a faster car,
To take me anywhere in seconds,
To take me anywhere I wanna go,
And drive around a faster car,
I will settle for nothing less,
I will settle for nothing less.
I wanna be big and strong and drive a faster car,
At the touch of a button, I can go anywhere
I wanna go, And drive around my faster car,
I will settle nothing less, I will settle nothing less.
I think I want to change my altitude I think
I want to change my altitude
I think I want to change my atmosphere
I wanna be bigger, stronger, drive a faster car,
To take me anywhere in seconds,
To take me anywhere I wanna go,
And drive around my faster car, I will settle nothing less,
I will settle nothing less. I think
I want to change my altitude I think I want to change my position
I think I want to change my atmosphere
Bigger and better
Bigger and better
Bigger and better
Bigger and better
Bigger, stronger, drive a faster car
At the touch of a button I'll go anywhere I want to go
