... hyper-sensitive to any aggravation

Well, there was no denying that my immune system had let me down, and that I had finally fallen victim to the wealth of cold germs that are going around. The question now became how badly was this thing going to impact me. I would continue to fight it, to be sure. I woke a number of times through the night just to squeeze another dose of Nasonex deep into my sinus cavity to help ward off the cold like symptoms and help my ability to breath through my nose. At one point – somewhere around 2:30am – I woke feeling complete incapable of sleep, so I got up and used the time constructively adding pictures to my many recent blog entries. Finally, around 4:00am, I fell back asleep and slept soundly till 5:40am. When I woke my sinuses were running again like a drippy sink. Not to be detoured, I still whipped out my exercise routine although I didn’t feel real excited about it. But at the end of the day, I‘d feel much worse for not. Because I didn’t get around to eating my lunch the day before, I didn’t have any need to spend anytime packing my lunch so that saved me quite a bit of time readying for work. Before walking Ykraps, I took out the garbage since it was trash day, and because they always show up around 5:45– 6:00am. Our walk was pleasant despite my less than stellar health. The rest of the morning went like most others: coffee, meditation, breakfast, email, shower, and guitar. To assist in elevating my mood, I wore a black t-shirt today. That always makes the day better. At work things wee rough and tumble once again. Probably won’t change much for the foreseeable much either. Because of work related issues, I couldn’t peel myself away for a run until well after 1:00pm. At least it was incrementally warmer today, and the wind, while still obnoxiously strong, wasn’t nearly as strong as the two days preceding days. Keep in mind, my ill feeling ways made me hyper-sensitive to any aggravation. When my run concluded, I was happy I toughed another one out. It took everything I had, to be sure. Back at my desk, I once again failed to eat my lunch. Between being ill and being inundated with escalations, I just skipped it. The remainder of the afternoon wasn’t ridiculous and things actually calmed down a little come 4:00pm. I left for home at a normal 5:10pm. That felt great! My plan was to do absolutely nothing but nurse myself to better health. After arriving home (I talked to Mindy as usual on my way home) I whipped out my usual chores then grabbed my book and hit my reading chair hell bent on slipping into a reading coma. I was very successful – I slept & read for about two hours! After waking I ate some cheese and turkey, and ultimately some leftover pizza. I was really hungry which, of course, was a very good sign. I still had that warm, feverish feeling, though, that often accommodates cold symptoms. Thus far I only had a runny nose and felt tired – nothing else. And with Friday practically upon us I was worried that a delightful weekend might be in jeopardy. I was determined to do all I could to be better fast! At 8:30pm I went to bed although I was feeling more awake by the minute. To help usher in sleep I turned on my bedroom television, which is pretty rare these days. I tuned into the Reds game. While laying there I mustered the energy to call Princess as promised. We talked for about 30 minutes. After hanging up I went down and popped myself some popcorn and published a couple of blog entries I had written but hadn’t yet posted. Around 11:00pm I went back to bed and fell asleep quickly. ... and the Reds won 6-5.
