January???
530AM rolled around fast, but I was rested and ready to begin a fresh new work week. And yes, I am still sleeping in a war torn bedroom (painting project underway). Even though I slept well, I can still tell the difference between having my box spring and mattress supported by the bed frame as opposed to having it lay directly on the floor. Not quite as much give.
I began the morning like most others. I whipped out my usual set of exercises then headed out with Ykraps for a morning walk. And again, we were greeted with unusually warm temperatures. It was 46 degrees at 530am! It’s realistic to believe that we’ll have days in late May with chillier mornings. Check me on that. Lovingly we had stars to view this morning, unlike most January 2006 days. Back home the coffee was smelling ripe for the drinking and I couldn’t wait to taste it! Today I brewed some Folgers Chocolate coffee. It was just OK; certainly nothing to write home about. Smells like old socks while it's brewing. EWH!!!!
I lit some candles then proceeded to meditate. It was comforting an energizing. After 20 minutes I rose to make my lunch and cook my breakfast. Since the holiday break I have altered my lunch routine a little. Instead of turkey on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, I am going to do Tuna on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and have Turkey on the two other days.
Even though I woke at my preferred rise time, I was running a little later than usual. I couldn’t quite put my finger on any one aspect, though. Instead, the likely culprit was more than likely extra time spent in all phases of my morning routine, which added up to being about 15 minutes behind schedule when it was all said and done. I made most of the time up during my grooming phase, however. I took a much shorter shower and dressed in record time, wearing what I wore late Sunday afternoon. I was out the door by 738AM.
Work was very busy, and certainly busier than I have become accustom to so far this winter. Still, I was able to get away for a run at 1230PM. I had brought only two layers today given the day’s early warm temperatures, and the first layer that would lay closest to my skin was a very thin dri-fit shirt. I had mistakenly given very little care to the day's forecast. By run time the temperature had dropped to 38 degrees. To avoid being cold I grabbed one of the many extra t-shirts I have stashed in a drawer just for such occasions and headed to the gym. As it turned out, I was just a little paranoid. I worked up quite sweat with that extra layer. I definitely could’ve done without it.
The afternoon was busier than the morning. I worked diligently right up until 530PM with little time to ponder my evening. This was a Mindy Monday so I figured that she’d be at my house when I arrived. When I called her she was just leaving her house, and when I arrived home she was in the driveway. Mindy had brought steak and salad for our dinner. After taking care of my many routine nightly chores, we sat down for a hearty steak dinner. It was yummy. After dinner we looked at our New Year’s Eve photos and talked for an hour or so. Come 9PM, Mindy had to run. After her departure, I took to painting until it was completed. After painting I uploaded two days worth of blog material and attached some photos. It was almost 1040PM. Time for bed!
