Family Guy!

Oh Man! There are those that talk plenty about their nights of sweet, luxurious sleep, and for the most part, that’s not my thing. I’ve never been one to dwell too much on the rewards of a restful night’s sleep beyond the simple utility. Lat night however, I felt that feeling. I went to bed around 1130PM and slept beyond 930AM – a full ten hours. I tossed and turned a few times early in the morning feeling a bit guilty for remaining in bed entangled amongst the bed sheets, but it felt so good. I needed the rest. I woke excited about the prospect of making coffee, exercising, and simply puttering around the house in complete denial of any responsibility. Wahoo! To continue the euphoria, I had to resign myself to the fact that I wouldn’t be racing the clock all day. And while I relaxed, I did have a rather aggressive agenda spelled out, but wouldn’t whine too much if I didn‘t get everything done. The list would serve only as a guiding post. I knew that I’d be well served to simply complete the three big rocks: rake leaves, paint bed, and play with princess. The Xmas tree tear down and vacuuming can wait. After my run I chose to make myself some eggs. Shortly there after, I prepped for some leaf raking. The weather was about 50 and sunny – something you don’t see in mid-January all too often. This was a prime opportunity to resolve a potential spring time lawn disaster if I don’t get those damn willow tree leaves raked up. They are so thick that they completely blanket my grass for 50ft each direction around the tree trunk. Left alone they would ultimately kill the underlying grass. Obviously this was priority one! I filled a large 9x12’ tarp three times and pretty much cleaned up the thickest covered areas, although there still some leaves sparsely about the entire backyard but none too thick to kill the grass. After the raking I started the BM’er and let it run for a good 15 minutes. I toyed with the idea of going for a ride but ultimately decided I’d better not. More than anything, I just didn’t have the luxury of spare time. I needed to stay on task. After finishing outdoors I retreated indoors to do a little more painting. I was able to get the first coat on the nightstand. It was about 300PM. Ashley had called earlier and said she was on her way over to work out details for getting her Sociology book for school. She arrived at 305PM. We immediately went about logging on to CSCC’s web based bookstore. Sadly, the web listed the wrong book – figures! In the end we decided it best to get the book tomorrow at the bookstore. Ashley left. I went and showered. I had to be at Mindy’s mothers for dinner by 430PM. I made it there by 427PM. Most of Mindy’s family was there again this week. Although, that’s not too unusual. They’re there most Sunday’s unless something unexpected comes up. Today’s meal was meatloaf, macaroni salad, mashed potatoes, and many other sides. For dessert we had some of Gloria's famous Chocolate Pie. It was absolutely scrumpcious - I had 2.5 pieces! We left just before 7 and headed back to Mindy's house albeit in our spearate vehicles. There we put her kids to bed then relaxed on her sofa in front of a warm satisfying fire. We watched some Sunday evening Fox programming; Family Guy & American Dad. Both are hysterically funny cartoons for adults. At 1030pm I headed home. About a mile down the road Mindy called to ask me to check my glasses. I had hers on. I had left mine back at her home. I woendered why my vision was so blurry! Oh well, I told her I had a spare pair that would suffice for work tomorrow. Once home I walked Ykraps, placed another coat of paint on the drawers to my nightstand then called it a night. I was officially pooped!
