Bringing the House!
The night went quick. I woke at 530AM – just as expected. I stood in front of the bathroom mirror poised to began my daily routine. After brushing my teeth and staring at my tired eyes in the mirror, I decided that I deserved another hour of sleep. So, with little reservation I dove back into my bed and hugged my pillows until I was once gain fast asleep.
An hour went by quickly. The next time I peaked at the clock, it was 630AM. I went about my day as I would any other. I exercised, walked Ykraps, coffee’d, and meditated. I wasn’t about to stress over sleeping in. I must have needed it.
As I finished readying myself for work, it was clear that I’d be arriving close to 830AM (not bad for sleeping an extra hour and taking my time getting ready). The morning was once again warm with temperatures hovering around 46 degrees. The trade off again was a gray and threatening sky.
Work went well. I stayed busier than usual do in part to covering for a co-worker who was out of town for a funeral. I went for my lunch run about 45 minutes earlier than normal to accommodate making a 130PM meeting deadline. The run was stimulating and the dumbbell routine afterwards was equally as rewarding. Again, I have increased the amount of weight in each set making it much more challenging.
The afternoon went fast and the pace was steady. I left he office shortly after 5PM and was home before 530PM. Mindy and I had agreed to meet at her home tonight with specifics for dinner still up in the air. I let her know that I wouldn’t likely arrive anytime before 7PM. After finishing all of my routine tasks I spent several minutes putting my bedroom back in order since the paint project was over, at lest for now. I didn’t get my mattresses back on the bed frame, however. Instead, I just got the tarp folded and put away, and then vacuumed, leaving only the task of putting the bed back together. I am a little concerned with the color. As I’ve pointed out, the tan I chose has its roots in green which I didn’t really see under the lighting conditions in the paint store or under canned lighting in my kitchen. Like many times, the color should grow on me. At least that’s what I am hoping. I guess the worst case is I follow through with the black crackle finish or simply change the color.
I was out the door and on my way to Mindy’s around 620PM. On my way, I dropped off several pair of dress slacks at the dry cleaners as well as stopping in Kroger to pick-up some flowers for my princess. It’s been a while since I’ve given her some. She deserves them! Soon after I arrived, it was time to ready her kids for bed. I helped. That took about half an hour or more. It always takes a while. They’re still at the needy ages where you have to help them with their pajamas and teeth brushing, and then read a book and tuck them in. Plus, Mindy’s kids like to be “flown” to bed from downstairs.
After they were down for the night we spent the next hour or two eating some leftover pizza and then talking about us. I left for home sometime around 1030PM. At home I did little more. I was tired and wanted to sleep. I did.
