Tilapia

I woke just before 5:30am ready to get my groove on. I felt well rested after a full 7.25 hours sleep. My daily preparation began as it normally does, with a vigorous round of calisthenics. Once my exercises were in the bag, my morning walk with Ykraps was in order. We took a diverted path this morning as another dog was walking its human down our usual path. To avoid potential conflict, as I often do, we chose a slightly modified route. A return to a hot cup of coffee sounded good since I still felt a little foggy after such a good nights sleep. The coffee hit the spot and went down rather easy. As soon as my coffee mug emptied I took to my favorite spot for morning meditation and spent the next fifteen minutes doing just that. My next step was email and then the preparation of my lunch and breakfast. I kept and eye towards the clock as I am making a concerted effort to be in the shower by 7am like the old days. Recently, I have allowed that to slip to 7:10 or even 7:15am. This modification will allow me to be to work by 7:45 or 7:50am, which has always been my preference. I left the house at 7:30am sharp without playing any guitar, but I still managed to snap a couple of morning pics before leaving. The drive was noticeably less congested confirming what I had surmised months ago. The traffic backs up considerably more just in ten minutes. In fact, the amount of traffic on Wilson Rd heading towards Roberts Rd is close to double. I talked with Mindy just as I was exiting the freeway onto Hilliard Cemetery Rd. Our conversation a bit brief due to my insistence on being in the office early. She understood. I had a team meeting coming up at 9am where we'd be discussing such things as attendance thus me being on time was critical. Thankfully, the morning was rather tame in comparison to weeks past. For this I was thankful. My 9am meeting went well and I was back in my office by 10:15am. I had a conference call scheduled for 11am that I listened to before jumping back into my usual routine. At 12:30-ish I left for the gym and my run. The run went well and the weather was exquisite for a run. I completely over dressed wearing a thick long sleeve running shirt that I had to remove come the half way point. I returned to work feeling refreshed and content now that my run was behind me. I attacked the afternoon's issues with an open mind and a passion for the customer. Some of us were keeping a passive eye on the Reds afternoon game against the St Louis Cardinal via the internet. Bottom-line, the Reds pulled it out in the bottom of the ninth and won 3-2. Wahoo! Come 5:05pm I bolted for home. Along the way I made a stop at Ohio Mulch on Roberts Rd to check the quality of their "Absolute Black'. It's guaranteed to resist fading even through the long summer and I know from the past it breaks down nicely. It looked pretty nice. I will most likely get some early Saturday morning. I got home around 545pm and got busy with my chores. I had committed to being at Mindy's around 6:30pm for dinner so I had little time to fart around. Because of my organizational skills, I was able to get everything done and ready for morning and even got my blog updated. I left for Mindy's just before 6:30pm and called her along the way. Some clouds had moved in on my trip home and were just clearing as I made my way towards Mindy's. And just as I arrived the sun busted back out. The clouds that rushed in were rather ominous looking. They had the look of cold storm clouds. When I arrived the kids were waiting for me on the porch. The minute I pulled up they rushed to my vehicle to give me hugs. That was sweet! unfortunately, Bella, while biding for my attention, bit me on my nipple through my shirt. Ouch! That hurt like hell! I know that she wasn't being mean, but still, it hurt. I went in and Jacob told his momma what Bella had done. Mindy without hesitation put Bella in a timeout. I snapped a few pictures of all three including the meal that Mindy prepared. Jacob was losing yet another tooth and I had to get pictures of that. This is the forth tooth he will lose in under a month's time. This is the second tooth on top, and it was literally hanging there by the smallest piece of skin. He could actually turn it all the way around, but wouldn't pull it out or let one of us do it for him. For dinner, Mindy had prepared a very tasty low-carb meal. We had Tilapia topped with a walnut-lemon and garlic mixture , spaghetti squash in a cream sauce, green beans with bacon bits, and a garden salad. I had never tried Tilapia or spaghetti squash before now. Both were excellent! Great job, Princess! After dinner, we admittedly hurried to ready the kids for bed so that we could relax and watch American Idol. We had them in bed by 7:45pm. And just as they went to bed, another bank of dramatic looking clouds rolled in and dumped a quick 5 minute shower. As it cleared the bright orange sun busted out leaving a beautiful orange horizon to the west. As Idol went on, It was apparent that each of these amateurs are good. This is one of the rare times that I've witnessed the singing night performances. After Idol ended we stayed tuned to Fox and watched, House, a medical drama that is very entertaining and has developed quite a cultish following. At its conclusion, I headed for home. The weather was pretty awesome. Because of the earlier shower, and subsequent moist air. we had scattered low lying fog and warm temps - just like on a warm summer night. When I got home I did some catching up on the NFL draft and read about the Reds 3-2 victory earlier in the day. At 11pm I went to bed.
