Three Simple Questions ???

Is Summer Hot? Is Olivia Loud? Is Mindy Mad? I rolled out of bed sometime after 730am. I heard Mindy get up a little earlier to deal with a couple of the kids, most likely Rocky and Olivia, but she was back in bed and asleep. The kids were back in their rooms, too, at least for the time being. I headed downstairs and started some coffee. Because it was Sunday I didn’t plan to exercise – just run. It was cloudy and sticky outside. It started pouring rain by 8am – about the same time that Frankie wanted out. Great! I grabbed my new umbrella and took her out back in the pouring rain. Olivia and Landon joined me using my old purple dog walking umbrella. Frankie sat pathetically at my feet whining. She had no intentions of doing her business in the rain. Realizing it wasn’t going to happen, we headed back inside. It didn’t take long for the wee ones, Olivia & Landon to wake everyone else. Along with Rocky, they were being incredibly loud. Olivia was by far the loudest screaming incessantly when Rocky donned my white gorilla mask. That woke even Mindy. She wasn’t pleased. At roughly the same time Frankie wandered over to the fatigue-patterned beanbag chair and proceeded to pee on it. I just couldn’t get to her fast enough to stop it. I was P.O’d. Meanwhile, it was still raining. I think it’s fair to say that no one was sporting their best mood. Finally, the rain stopped and I readied and left for my run. I ran along Trabue & Hague. Once back at home I hung outside with the boys, Jacob, Rocky, and Evan. They were busy skate boarding. That didn’t last, however. Rocky badly wanted to try out his new fishing pole. I readied his pole and two others, one for Evan and one for Jacob. We headed to the compost pile out back to collect some worms (bait). We must’ve dug up about a dozen before heading across the street to Carl’s to fish. Jacob and Evan caught a couple blue gills rather quickly. Evan pulled in a small catfish minutes later. Rocky became discouraged that he wasn’t catching anything. I explained it had more to do with his impatience than anything else. Finally, his luck changed. Rocky ended up catching three fish – 2 blue gill and a small cat fish. Until then, I had no idea that there were catfish in our pond. After fishing for an hour we used up all of our bait. The kids ultimately bored of the fishing and returned to the house for lunch. It was already 2pm. I decided to bite the bullet and start the yard work all the while knowing that we needed to leave for Sunday dinner around 330-345pm. I whacked, edged, and mowed finishing up everything minus blowing by 330pm. I figured I could finish that later after we got back home. Meanwhile, Mindy was ready to depart. She wasn’t in a good mood at all. Apparently the wee ones were on her last nerve. She gave me the dickens for cutting the lawn. ??? I rushed through a shower just to appease her and was ready in less than ten minutes. We left the house around 345pm. Mindy drove.  We dropped Olivia first. I went inside and said hello to Stephen and Ashley. Didn’t stay long. Next, we dropped the boys at Kelly’s. Kaileigh was doing Sunday with us. We headed to Mindy’s mom’s place next, arriving just after 4pm. Those already there were sitting out back on the patio. We walked around and through the latched gate. Jerry was there with Joe. We hadn’t seen him since the Tim McGraw concert, or for about three months. It was after 5pm by the time everyone was there and dinner was served. We had sloppy Joe’s, pasta salad, and fried potatoes. All very good, but probably not what most would consider healthy dining. After dinner we headed back out doors for some fresh air. It was after 630pm when we headed in for dessert. Gloria made her family famous fudge for dessert and recognized many for their achievements. I don’t care for the peanut butter fudge. But thankfully, she made brownies too. I ate at least four of those. They were small. We left for home after 7pm. We had to drop Kaileigh at home first. Shelly & Joey had a family meeting with Courtney to discuss/resolve some visitation issues. According to Shelly, it went pretty well. Sounds like Courtney is getting her act together. One can only hope! We arrived home around 8pm. The kids were quick to dash off to find their friends who were scattered about the yards. Mindy & I walked Frankie. On our way back home we stopped at Kenny & Chrissy’s just to say hello. Kenny was kicked back on the sofa just as I expected he might. We didn’t stay too long at all – just long enough to recap Saturday’s party and plan a cookout for next Sunday. At home we all changed into our PJs. I did some reading in the family room while the others watched TV. I headed for bed around 930pm..
