Something a little different

I slept until almost 6am again. And while I don't really want to make it a habit, the extra sleep feels so good as I am still catching up after partying perhaps a little too much and too late Sunday night. It rained again overnight, hard by the looks of it. It was clearing at sunrise, however. A light fog hung over the back yards. It was extra steamy as the sun beams forced their way through. My routine was much the same as the day before. After exercise, Frankie, coffee, meditation and a stretch, I headed out for my run around 7am. My legs were still a tad stiff, but already I could tell a difference. I should be back to normal in another day or two. Instead of fried eggs, I whipped up a bacon and cheese omelet. That was a nice change of pace. I took full advantage of all the fresh fruit Mindy has cut up too; pineapple, strawberries, cantaloupe, and watermelon. She hasn't been buying cantaloupe a lot recently. More often than not they've been bad. Not sure why. This batch, however, was sweet and delicious! I made sure to pack some in my lunch too. After a shower, I had enough forethought to grab some shorts and socks just in case Wednesday would end up being our golf day. Mindy asked if we'd be golfing that evening . I wasn't sure but wanted to be prepared should the opportunity present itself. To that end, I loaded my clubs in the BM'er before driving off to work. Early on at work, I received an email from Bob B asking if we'd be interested in golfing tonight versus Thursday (he had an appointment Thursday evening). I could only smile after planning for such an occurrence. The option was left open as Bob I. didn't have his gear in tow, and wasn't sure about his schedule. The work day was busy but I still hoped to get away for golf around 4pm if I could. But as the day wore on it was looking less and less likely. Damn it! Bob I. emailed around 3pm that he was in after running home at lunch to fetch his gear. Just before 4pm I sent off an emailing letting the two of them know that I was regrettably out - too busy. I let Mindy know too since the kids were doing dinner with Jimaken. Since golf was out, Mindy asked if I wanted to go out or dine in. My preference was for a quiet evening at home. I left work at 530pm. Mindy was just starting the grill when I walked in the door. We were having salmon and salad. The grill, however, was giving her fits. Couldn't get it to light. Instead of kicking back, I went out to assist. For whatever reason, the sparker feeding the main burners wasn't working, though the two others were. I monkeyed with that for five minutes or more. I ended up taking off the grate and then emptying the now flooded with rain water grease tray. I was a tad agitated. We ended up lighting the grill with a lighter. Mindy grilled the salmon while I worked on my blog. She called me for dinner 20 minutes later. ON my plate was enough salmon to feed two or three. It looked good but smelt extra fishy. I think my expression made Mindy feel bad, although I didn't intend it to. The salmon didn't taste bad at all. It was quite good and cooked like I like it - crunchy brown on the outside, pink and juicy inside. The spinach/lettuce salad was good too. After dinner, Mindy and I took Frankie on a walk pretty much following the old Ykraps trail. As we anticipated, Jimaken showed up with the kids just as were making our way back towards the house. It was near 830pm. While Mindy and the kids spent a few minutes with the neighbors, I got busy on my blog updating through Sunday and then adding pictures dating back to our Florida vacation. I must've spent about an hour or so working on the blog. Sometime after 930pm I retired to the big chair where I did some reading while Mindy worked on her Sudoku puzzles. I read until I feel asleep. I headed for bed ahead of Mindy.
