My Awakening
After 9 or 10 hours of sleep I woke Tuesday at 6am still feeling tired. It wasn't that I didn't get enough sleep, however. Instead, it might've been the opposite, too much sleep. After sit-ups, push-ups and coffee, I felt a lot better.
Frankie and I headed outside around 620am. The steamy, warm, and sunny was back. AFter heading back inside I started meditation and stretching almost immediately. Like she often does, Frankie chewed on my ballcap all the while I stretched.
Daily run:
After re-kenneling Frankie, I headed out for a run. I t was just after 7am. My thighs still burned and the arches of both feet burned, but neither enough to cause much concern. They loosened up just fine during my run. I ran four miles and was home by 740am or so. Unlike Monday, it felt really good to have my run out of the way early.
Make breakfast:
I started breakfast and threw together my lunch. I finished eating at 805am. I made Mindy a cup of coffee then headed up to get a shower. Frankie followed. She's always very excited to go up and wake Mindy.
Mindy got up before I left and even offered to move the Honda so I could back the BM'er out of the garage. As it was, the Honda was setting in the middle of the driveway. Off to work.
Work:
Work was again very busy. I still wasn't close to being caught up after being on vacation for two weeks. I did manage to get more in the flow of things. That first day back everything seemed to move at a much faster pace than I was comfortable with.
My peer and I spent considerable time working on a new scheduling model we're calling "follow-the-sun". I didn't bother taking a formal lunch break. I had no errands needing run. I opted to eat my packed lunch around 1pm while working.
Don't recall if I talked with Mindy during the day. I know her phone was still giving her problems on and off.
Leaving for home & dinner:
By day's end it was as if I hadn't been gone at all. Life was indeed back to normal. Funny how that works. I left the office late, around 600pm, and arrived home around 620pm. The house smelt of Mexican. I guess tacos but was incorrect. Instead, Mindy made chicken enchiladas and Mexican rice. Dinner weighed heavy in my stomach. Halfway through clean-up I begged off for a nap. I was tired. Mindy & the kids slipped off to see what the neighbors were doing.
Evening play:
I woke after maybe 20-30 minutes and finished the kitchen clean-up. There wasn't much left to do. With a quiet house I spent a little time reading, writing in my blog, and surfing the net. Around 9pm, I tuned the TV to the Science Channel watching more of the Through the Wormhole series with Morgan Freeman. Fascinating!
Mindy and the kids came in just after 9pm. I watched TV until 1030pm then headed for bed.
