When Depression Drips Down

I was up at 5:55am – much later than I would’ve preferred but still with plenty of time to prepare for work. The house was quiet. No one else was up and stirring. I proceeded to carry-on with my exercise routine as usual and by 6:10am I was out the door with Ykraps. When I returned form my walk I made some coffee and then moved forward with my morning like any other work day. I spent some quiet time on the deck enjoying the morning as it unfolded. Still, the house remained quiet. After making my lunch, breakfast, and a cup of coffee for Mindy, I went for a shower. There, in my place on the bed was Jacoby basking in the glory of his mother’s attention. I kidded him about it before getting in the shower. I was ready minutes later and headed downstairs. Jacob and Mindy got up and went down stairs too. And before I left for the day Bella got up. She tried to climb over the doggie gate but instead knocked it down. In fact, that’s how we knew she was up. I went up and helped her down stairs with the rest of us. Even though I had planned to bolt right then, I didn’t. The kids asked me to go out on the deck and play some guitar first. That was too hard to resist. I took a few minutes to share with them. It was nice! By 7:45am I grabbed all my gear and headed to work in the BM’er. After all, it was the perfect BM’er type day. The high today was expected to hit or top 95 degrees with little to no clouds - a real scorcher of a summer day. The drive in was superb! I love driving the BM’er in the morning. Well, come to think of it, I love driving the BM’er anytime! Monday morning in the office was like most Monday’s. It was busy. Plus, there’s always the weekend catch-up with friends thing. We shared stories of our weekends and the heat. It’s surprising to me how many people bitch about the heat. I love it. I only complain when we don’t get enough rain to take care of lawn and landscape. Some day when I splurge on a sprinkler system, that bitchin’ will cease too. For many reasons, I couldn’t get away for my run until after 1pm. I had my eye in the AOL weather bug too. The temperature kept going up. By the time I left for my run it was 98 degrees with 40% humidity. The heat index was at 106. It was like a furnace out there. Lucky for me, there was a rather nice breeze blowing from the southwest. The only problem with that was that the breeze was a non-factor on the return, probably when I could’ve used it most. I paced myself and planned for the heat. I stayed surprisingly dry until perhaps the final ¾ mile. I maintained my slower than usual pace which ultimately served me well. After my run and shower I made my way back to the office for some food. It was 2:20pm by the time I settled down with my food. All I know is once I ate, I was tired. I fought it off and stayed pretty busy right up until time to go home. I left for the day promptly at 5:05pm. I stopped at Target along the way home to pick-up a card for Mindy since today marked ten months of bliss J. While there, I picked up a high tech raft for some leisure floating at Alum Creek. I would have bought two but I thought that we should make sure that this is the one before buying another. After all, it was fairly expensive for being a stinking raft! By the time I got home, Mindy was just pulling up too. She looked as if she had just come from the pool. The give away was the pool hair and the swim suit. She had just dropped the kids off at to their father and they would be gone until like Sunday. This is his vacation week with them. I was tired and didn’t feel like doing anything organized. After walking Ykraps, I wanted to read and nap. Mindy wanted to go for dinner. While she showered I read in my chair and began to dose. As soon as I began to drift off, her cell phone rang ... MORE TO COME...
