Again... The first day back

I tossed and turned several times throughout the night, and I remember thinking that I would wake feeling exhausted for never getting the deep sleep that I crave. I woke on time, but didn’t feel any fatigue whatsoever. Hmmm? So, I shrugged it off and assumed I’d pay for it later in the day. My coffee didn’t begin brewing like I had assumed and a closer inspection of the maker revealed that the clock was flashing indicating a power loss. Dah! I must have killed that circuit while trying to find the circuit that controlled the ceiling fan that Mindy and I installed Tuesday. No harm no foul. A quick flip of the switch and the java began to brew. I did my exercises then lassoed up Ykraps for our usual morning walk. The morning air was thick as thieves and sky was covered with a thick blanket of clouds. However, I knew in my heart that the sun was due for a triumphant return later in the day. After two days of rain, I am ready for more sunshine. This whole getting ready for work with so much structure felt odd to me. It was almost like I had forgotten my routine. Strange, given that I worked five days last week. But perhaps it had more to do with me being off the entire week prior and then having a long four day weekend. I had to be deliberate where I would typically run on auto pilot. I managed to work my way through my routine without screwing it up too bad. Missing was my leisure time that I so badly need once I’m in that endless cycle of day after day and week after week. But I’m sure I’ll find my groove next week. I left for work on time – about 7:35am. I remembered to grab my laptop and ‘Raspberry’. I called and woke Mindy about mid-stride. She was pleasant despite me waking her. Our after work plans called for us taking her mom to Minnelli’s for dinner around 6pm. I would have to hustle to make it. But before any of that, I had an entire work day in front of me. We were staffed rather lightly for a Wednesday, so I was understandably worried how the day might unfold. But lucky for me, things were manageable. It felt like a Monday, so subsequently, I failed to manage my time accordingly. Once I remembered it was Wednesday and that we had a 1pm staff meeting, it was too late to run ahead of time. I had to instead plan my run after our meeting. Our meeting ended just before 2pm and I hustled off to the gym. The sun was shining just as I had assumed it would. For this I was happy. My run was strong and I felt like I could’ve ran 10 miles. When I returned from my run, I was faced with a quandary. Do I bypass my lunch knowing that we’d be eating dinner at Minnelli’s around 6pm? But it was still 3 hours off and I like to eat every 3.5 – 4 hours, so I went ahead and woofed down my food at 3pm. When I began eating, I was not hungry, but by the time I finished I was. The final two hours of the day went fast. Soon it was time to go, so I packed my stuff and left the building. I had a planned detour for my way home. I stopped at Kroger to pick-up some much needed food staples and the nthe bank to cash a dividend check that's been sitting around for two months. I was on my way home by 5:35pm. As I pulled in Sciot oWoods I saw Mindy walking Ykraps down Newell Dr. She was showering at my house before heading off to pick-up her mother and ultimately meeting me at Minnelli's North (close to my house). She left almost as soon as I got settled in. After carrying out a few chores and changing clothes, I jumped in the Trooper destined for dinner. I arrived at Minelli's several minutes before Mindy and her mom, so I found a table of my liking and grabbed a local magazine to keep me busy while waiting. I ordered a lemonade to tie me over, too. They arrived just as I was digging into an article about the Grandview brothel recently shut down that had been catering to the social upper crest for some years. Gloria ordered fries, Mindy ordered fish, and I ordered a pizza. I love Minnelli’s pizza. It’s the best in the world – bar none! We enjoyed our dinner and were there for about an hour. After dinner Mindy ran her mother home then rejoined me at my house shortly after 8pm. She could only stay for a few minutes – long enough to enjoy a piece of keylime pie and a quick hug. She had to be home to relieve her ex. After she left I did a mass blog update (about four days) then went to bed. It was only 9:30pm but I was so tired. I read only about 1.5 pages of my book before my eyelids felt heavier than the muscles holding them up.
