Golf & Swim 2
The native birds are rather colorful & large in Florida.
Airfare & car rental to get to the sun - $1000, another $100 to block it.
Up once again at 7:15am. After exercise and some coffee on the lanai, I prepared for another tropical morning run. Today I took yet another path allowing me to see even more of the local area. I kept an eye out for gators since John told me that they frequent the local golf course ponds. I didn’t see one. I checked out a couple of new build homes along the way too. I’ve always wanted to move back to Florida, and my visit reaffirms that. Essentially, it’s like endless summer. After all, I can always fly home for some CGDD.
After returning from my run, Mindy once again had breakfast all but ready – French toast, sausage, and fruit. It was delicious. Before sitting for food however, I jumped headlong into the pool. After a hot morning run nothing sounds or feels better at that very moment.
We ate then hung by the pool all day long once again. We mixed up blender drinks and played with the kids in the pool until almost 3pm when it was time once again for me to ready for a late 18 holes of golf with John Bradford. John showed up right at 3pm and we were off for our round. It was even hotter today than the day before. The sky was more cloud free too.
Both of us out did our scores from the day prior. I shot a 93 and john shot an 87. I drove tremendously but couldn’t hit easy second shots worth a damn. I was consistently poor from 80-90 yards in. Oh well, that’s golf!
We finished tuckered after only three hours. Again, the play went really fast. We had the course to ourselves. John didn’t have the energy to come in and drink wine with Mindy and I. I think the kids drive him a little battie. I understand. Mindy was in the process of getting the kids their dinner when I returned. They ate then Mindy readied them for bed. They were in bed by 7:45pm. I left to get us a pizza and to pick up a few items to tie us over through the last night and day of our stay.
We got an Amici’s pizza. And while we enjoyed the first couple pieces, we could hear Bella stirring in her room. Mindy went and got her since we know how much she loves pizza too. While eating pizza I was feeling tired and it was only 8:40pm. Mindy thought that I might be dehydrated. I was. I drank three very large glasses of ice water and felt a whole lot better. We ate another slice of pizza each then decided to get to bed early. We were in bed at 10:00pm – no kidding!
