Winter's Slip Sliding Away
Hey, can’t dance! It’s Monday morning again already. I don’t know about you but I wasn’t really ready for the weekend to be over. I could use another day or so to relax, rest, and read. Nobody asked my opinion though. I was up on time and going about my routine in a routine manner. :)
The weather Gods forgot to bless us this day. We were stricken with chilly temps, clouds, rain, drizzle, and even snow flurries. Ykraps and dressed with drizzle appropriate gear for our morning walk. That made it almost bearable. The coffee was just that much better after a walk in the raw elements. If the forecasters are to be trusted, the weather is to do nothing but improve as the week progresses, and by the weekend we’re hearing mid to upper 60’s under partly cloudy (sunny) skies. I figure what’s the difference and since I’m a cup half full kinda guy …
My work day was pretty uneventful, and for that I was thankful. Monday’s, like Friday’s, have way of being a bear! I was busy just the same just not rushed. I didn’t make it out for my run until almost 1pm. Once I did it had warmed to about 37 degrees and the winds had died making for a more than palatable run. Once back and enjoying my lunch I saw that blizzard like conditions moved in. At times it was snowing and snowing hard with temperatures above freezing.
By the time I was headed for home the skies weren’t as threatening. But I pulled up at home it began to drizzle again. This made my afternoon walk with Ykraps much like the morning – wet! Mindy pulled up just as Ykraps and I were heading out. She in turn joined us for the messy walk. Upon our return we decided that wings would be on Jimmy’s menu tonight. We threw them in and then played on the computer for about an hour. While waiting we searched the internet for information on one of my friends from high school who had found himself in some apparent trouble with the law. While the data wasn’t specific, we did find his mug shot on a not so endearing list. We’ll leave it at that! Hopefully he an turn his life around.
After dinner Mindy had a succinct plan for us to follow. She wanted to hot tub, play an adult game she got me for Valentine’s Day, then do some snuggling. Of course I obliged her. The hot tubbing went well. The sky, by now, was just short of crystal clear and the wet deck was icing over making footing a little treacherous.
The game was a little clunky, but it was our first time playing it. In the end, however, it’s just like riding a bike. Once you’ve done it a few times, you never forget! We fell asleep after the game. I let Mindy know the time a couple of times. She seemed unconcerned. She didn’t leave until almost 10:30pm. Somebody’s gonna’ have some splainin’ to do. I had a little snack then went right back to bed with book in hand. I didn’t crash for good until after 11:30pm. It might be a tough morning!
