Marching into Spring!
sunrise, Wednesday, March 1 aproximately 7:30am EST
Day Lillies blooming. Although they began in late January this year.
It's Wednesday morning and I jumped to my feet at 5:40am. By the time I had taken care of those immediate bodily functions it was 5:50am and I found myself horizontal, toes tucked under the sofa, ripping out my 55 sit-ups. I felt much better than I did the prior two mornings but still had slightly irritated, tired eyes. After some push-ups and curls, Ykraps and I were outside walking the barren streets of Scioto Woods.
My mood was admittedly gloomy, but I was determined to change it, realizing, of course, that it’s a decision we make each day whether to be happy and optimistic, or sad and gloomy. Things don’t happen to me. Rather, I make things happen! At home, after coffee, I meditated surprisingly well.
Given that it was already Wednesday, I had over half my “get ups” out of the way already this week. That’s amazing. Seems it was just Sunday night only moments ago. Do you ever suppose that if our normal life span were measured in hundreds of years that we would look at decades like we currently look at weeks? I was contemplating that a couple of days ago while running. And in turn, would a common house fly, whose life span is typically less than a month, measure its life intervals in seconds, minutes, and hours? “Boy, buzz, buzz - that last – buzz, buzz, buzz, minute went awful quick.” “Damn honey, who left the maggots out in the sun?”
Work went well. Busy, but well. I left for my daily run at 12:45pm, a little later than usual. The temperature was about 47 degrees and there wasn’t much of a breeze. It was nice! After my shower I was in the proper state of mind for a remainder of the day, regardless what came.
Come 5:15pm I left for the day. Daughter Lindsey had called me mid-afternoon and we agreed to met for dinner. I thought that we’d go to BW-3’s. She thought that was good. I arranged to pick her and Lil’ Rocky up at about 6pm. As I left the office I called Mindy to ask if she would meet us there too. She was game. Lindsey and I arrived at BW-3’s just after 6pm. We ordered Rocky’s food as soon as we got there so he wouldn’t have to wait. He was behaving quite well and kept busy coloring. Mindy arrived not too long after Lindsey adn I ordered our drinks. Finally, we could order some food! Princess ordered a salad, Lindsey a burger, and I ordered Tenders with their newly touted mango habenero sauce along with a basket of onion rings. While waiting on our food, the balloon guy came around and offered ot entertain Lil' Rocky. He twisted him a balloon inthe shape of a motorcycle. Very impressive. Sorry I didn't have my camera! We tipped him a dollar for his trouble. Our food finally arrived after much anticipation. We were all quite hungry!
There was little talk as we woofed down our delights. By 7:00pm we were done eating and ready to head for the hills. By now Lil' Rocky was beginning to get cranky. We assumed it to be his two year molers since he kept pointing to his cheek.
Mindy headed directly to my home, I took Lindsey to her apartment. Back at my house Mindy and I exchanged back rubs before settling in front of another fire for about an hour. Come 9pm Mindy left for home. She has an extra big day in store tomorrow. I spent the rest of the night reading.
