Upon Further Review...

After one heck of a good night’s sleep I woke feeling refreshed at exactly 5:30am. It’s amazing what a rock solid 8 hours of sleep will do for a 46 year old man. I wouldn’t waste a single minute this morning either. I was efficient with my time and my routine. I had my morning calisthenics and walk with Ykraps in the bag well before 6am. After some coffee I was able to meditate peacefully. Afterwards I read The Daily OM, I couldn’t help but smile after reading about accepting irritating people in our lives as a blessing of sorts. The help strengthen us! Oh yeah! How true! And who knows, I am probably that irritant to some. In fact, I know I am (he-he-he). Today is supposed to be sorta gray but almost 50 degrees – a prelude to a warming trend that’s expected to stick through the weekend – albeit continued gray (a darker shade of pale). Even on the chilly mornings now several birds can be heard singing up a storm. It won’t be long now before we’re hearing the welcome sound of nighttime insects singing in the trees and brush. Can’t wait! Time to tune the mower and weed wacker! A gray day it was with the accompaniment of a brisk March breeze and the hope of spring to come. Patience is key although I don't have much. Work was uneventful and my afternoon run was much the same. Little out of the ordinary. This was Wednesday and like most others, this was a Mindy Wednesday. This one would be different from the others only in that Mindy wouldn't be joining me until after dinner with her friend Kari who was celebrating a birthday today. I spent the early part of the evening doing Jimmy kind of things along with stewing over my performance evaluation which I finally took time to read just before leaving work. And once Mindy arrived she had to hear my belly aching all evening long. She did a masterful job of allowing me to express my discontent and move on although I doubted it would be over before the weekend, however. Mindy left a bit earlier than she has many nights of late but still it was somewhere around 9pm. After she left I retreated to my book for an escape of sorts. It worked. As frustrated as I was with my review, I wasn't going to allow it to damper my spirits or my coveted sleep.
