Saturday morning came quickly. I heard Landon babbling and didn’t want Mindy to feel obligated to get up so I did. However, unless I am mistaken, she was up a least once in the middle of the night to put him back to sleep. It was about 7:20am when I went to fetch him. He crapped himself and it was quite messy. Ewh! Rocky was right there with me ‘helping’. Hands full, I left the old diaper on the desk. Landon, Rocky and I headed downstairs.
I got the kids something quick – juice and waffles - so that I could make coffee and exercise. I had to get Mindy up when it came time to walk Ykraps. I couldn’t leave Landon unattended. She understood. I felt good. I checked in with work after the walk. Things were calm – thankfully. Mindy, the kids and I hung out all morning. I left for my run around 10am. It was a nice run. I took my time. :)
Mindy seemed eager to go grocery shopping. I understood. She put Landon down for a nap before leaving. Rocky & I played Wii. He did exceptionally well. He scored a 182 bowling in only his second game. I was impressed. He didn’t fare so well with golf, however. But then again, it takes time to figure out all the little nuances. Mindy was going to do a little Xmas shopping too. I expected her to be gone for 3 hours. Landon didn’t sleep too long. He was up after only an hour or so. In the meantime, Rocky had been moving from one meal to the next. We did breakfast, snack, lunch all before 12 noon. He ate good, though. I rewarded him later with ice cream. Landon was a bit fussy.
Mindy got home around 3pm. After carrying everything in, I headed out to address some ‘Jimmy’ chores. First, I installed the new safety sensors on the garage door. That took about 45 minutes. It worked perfectly afterwards. I was happy to have that fixed once and for all. Next, I stowed the lawn furniture chair pads in giant trash bags and then put them away in the garage attic, just like last year. Lastly, I pulled Mindy’s minivan into the garage and installed her new wiper blades. I noticed the engine was ticking more than usual.
In about 1.5 hours I completed all the chores I badly wanted to get done. I felt really good having gotten beyond them. As dinner time approached Landon showed signs of being over tired. Nobody’s better at spotting those signs than Mindy. Even with a little reluctance on his part, she took him up to his bed for what we thought would be a late nap. He ended up sleeping all night. Boy was he tired!
After taking Ykraps on his evening walk, I ordered the three of us (Mindy, Rocky, and me) a large Minelli’s three topping pizza. Rocky seemed excited to spend some one on one time with the two of us. He went with me to fetch the pie. Rocky ate just one piece of pizza before retiring to the sofa. He fell asleep while Mindy & I were talking. During dinner, I uncorked my fresh growler of IPA. Boy, was it good! We talked about our progress with Rocky and agreed to call Kelly to discuss Lindsey’s progress and hopefully her gameplan. Both of us found it odd that Lindsey hadn’t as much as called to check on the boys for over a week.
Kelly confirmed that thus far she had discouraged it so not to mess with the children’s minds. After a lengthy conversation she agreed to have Lindsey call. As well as both boys are doing (that’s a relative term) we felt Lindsey should call and comfort Rocky. He asks about her all the time, especially when he’s idle.
I carried Rocky up to bed around 8pm. He never woke or made a peep. We managed to get him into his jammies, too. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening. We built a fire and chatted until Mindy called it a night. I headed to the PC after she went to bed. I checked on my camera. Amazon had it available for shipping on the 17th. I pulled the trigger. I am excited! After a little more surfing I called it a night, myself.
