Bella has a Growth Sprut

I was up at 5:20am ready and willing to take on the new day. Once again, I felt great. No nausea, no aches, no headache. It looked bitterly cold outside. I checked the temperature. It was a breezy 16 degrees. Burr! After exercise I bundled warmly in preparation for my walk with Ykraps. Oh, it was cold!

I heard Landon whining a time or two while sipping morning coffee. Mindy was up earlier than usual. She came down and fetched her own coffee. I was in the middle of PC time. After pouring her coffee she headed back upstairs to presumably get in the shower. I went ahead with the rest of my pre-run routine. I meditated for about 15 minutes, or until 6:25am.

My run was another chilly one but also good. I am quite comfortable running in the extreme cold. Now, once the temps dip into the single digits and are coupled with a strong winter wind then it’s a whole new ballgame. But even then, it’s still easier than running in oppressive heat.

By the time I returned to the house, it was alive with excitement as the kids were busy eating their breakfasts. Mindy’s done a good job creating routine for all of them. Mindy & the wee ones left before 7:30am. Just like that, Jacob and I returned to our typical, quiet routine. I was ready to leave the house just before 7:55am. We were at the bus stop by 8:00am.

Work was extremely busy. I had little time for pleasure. However, I did manage to get out of the office at 2:30pm in order to squeeze in an overdue haircut. I had to wait fifteen minutes. The young lady cutting my hair I did not recognize. She told me she was a transfer-in from another Saturday’s shop. She had bad breath and rotten teeth. She commented that I was awfully quiet. Funny, I felt she talked too much! She did a marginal job at best. But over the years I’ve learned not to fret much over a bad haircut. It grows back rather quickly. Despite the less than stellar service, I tipped her well - $4. Maybe she can get those teeth fixed. J

Before heading back to work I went next door to pick-up a dozen crickets for our lizards. I remembered to take them inside with me once back at the office so they wouldn’t freeze in the frigid car.

The late afternoon went OK. I left for home at 5:30pm sharp. Mindy called before quitting time to make sure I remembered to pick-up Jacob’s Chipotle on my way home. I promised him as much last night at dinner, and did remember. The rest of us would be having pizza. I’d be getting those, too, but after stopping home first. Chipotle was as sparsely populated as I’ve ever seen it. No line! I was home a little after 6pm. The wee ones seemed disappointed that I didn’t have the pizzas. Jacob began eating his chipotle right away. He was most appreciative.

After walking Ykraps I ordered the pies, two large – one pepperoni – one cheese. I saved about $6 using a coupon ( 2 for $15.99). I left after waiting about ten minutes. The pizzas were ready after a very short wait. Perfect. I glanced at the crowd frequenting the re-opened bar next door. Looks like the same crowd as before, a tad rough (Nascar-like). I headed home with our pies, very eager to eat.

The kids ate well, especially Bella. She woofed down at least four pieces. I’ve noticed she’s eating more of late. Must be in growth spurt. After pizza we entertained the kids by purchasing a pay-per-view movie – Fred Claus. I didn’t watch. I fooled around on the PC for a while. The kids went to bed rather easily sometime around 9pm. Mindy & I stayed up a while longer, but not by much.
