Last of Seven

I slept really well Monday night, best in about a week. I didn’t feel queasy either, which was an incredibly good sign. Like the day before, even though I was off work, I got up to help Mindy get the kids ready for the go. I completed my exercise routine and walked Ykraps all the while everyone else readied for their day away. I helped Mindy by getting the kids bundled for the extra cold weather. Soon Mindy & the little ones were gone. Jacob was the only remaining child. He and I walked to the bus stop at 7:58am. Like the day before, I went back home where I fooled around on the PC before finally dressing & leaving for my run. It felt good to feel good. I was back from my run before 10am. Unlike the day before, I remained in my running attire figuring I’d run my errands just as I was. I left to fetch Rocky at 10:45am. I arrived with just a minute or two to spare and wait. He spotted me right off. I dropped Rocky at Grandma Sharon’s then headed off to the Georgesville Wal-Mart. My main purpose for heading there was to get Ykraps some food and treats. However, while there I picked up another pair of shoes for Landon - this time tennis shoes. They were only $15. After Wal-Mart I stopped at the West Broad St Home Depot where I bought a new lock and 15’ snake cable to secure our new gas grill to the deck. I need to get the garage fully ready to accept Mindy’s minivan. I was home shortly after 12noon. I made myself a big turkey sandwich after arriving home. I planned no chores or additional shopping. I would do nothing more than rest and play all afternoon, or until Jacob got home. However, I did tidy up the house a little. Jacob & I worked on his homework straight up as soon as he was in the door. Mindy & the others were home by 4:30pm. Mindy suggested making spaghetti for dinner. That was fine by me. Just after 5pm I walked Ykraps, but the lion’s share of my evening was spent entertaining Landon. He was really into the toddler books and toys we have. Everyone enjoyed their spaghetti, including all the kids. Rocky tries so hard to please and constantly seeks our approval and recognition. We give it in bundles! He also shared how much he misses his momma. We assured him that she misses him too. He talked to her sometime during the evening. Based on the latest information we received, looks like Lindsey might be entering a 70-day program. That’ll seal our fate through mid-February, at least. Realistically speaking, the kids should remain with us for at least another 90 days after that while she reestablishes herself. As I understand it, Kelly fully supports that thinking. Mindy and Kelly have been talking daily to make sure we’re all on the same page. That’s great. It takes a village. Getting the kids situated for bed was a chore. Mindy bares the lion’s share of that task. Some time around 8:30pm we had some quiet time. Mindy continued sprinkling in some laundry, which has seemingly exploded with two new children in the fold. We loosely watched some TV. We caught the final few minutes of the OSU basketball game. They won a squeaker! We headed for bed just after 9:30pm. After all, I had to head back to work tomorrow. For the first time in a long, long time, I was completely ready for a return to work. I couldn’t go on like this. Not sure why I was feeling that way, but then again, with all the change hitting us recently, there’s little wonder.
