I'm Going Orna -mental
I considered making it to Thursday somewhat of a milestone, this being my fourth work day in-a-row. Something I haven’t had to do for some time. I was up at 5:20am, just like I wanted to be. It wasn’t long before my exercise routine was in the bag and Ykraps and I were heading out into the chill. Thankfully, it wasn’t nearly as slippery this AM, although we still had to be careful, especially on the front stoop. Equally, the sidewalk crossing over the bridge was still coated in thin and slippery ice. That almost caught me off guard.
Our walk was brief but fruitful. Soon we were back at home and I was pouring a hot cup of coffee, which I thoroughly enjoyed. By the time that I delivered Mindy’s she was up and making our bed. I left her coffee resting on her dresser in the master bath. I returned downstairs to meditate and then prep for a run. Although there were a few sparsely scattered slick spots, the roads were dry for the most part making my run so much easier and faster. I still had to be on the lookout for the occasional patch of ice. The unexpected ice patches are the ones that get you.
Mindy and the kids were right where I expected them to be when I returned from my run. I helped get everyone bundled for the day just before the departed. Mindy happily reported that her van was still running fine after last weekends scare. Hmmm? Soon Mindy and the wee ones were gone. Jacob and I did our usual thing and left the house promptly at 7:58am. The boys and I once again were able to toss the football avoiding the few slick spots remaining. The bus was on time. Soon I was on my way to work.
The work day started out pleasantly and never got out of hand. I was very happy for that. I didn’t bother with taking a lunch. I worked straight through the day. In truth, that made the day fly by. Soon it was time to go home. Spaghetti and meatballs was dinner. At first I wasn’t too hungry but managed to work up an appetite big enough to enjoy a plate full. The kids enjoyed it too. It’s a family favorite.
The three older kids (minus Landon) enjoyed their advent calendar chocolates after dinner. Mindy brought home about 8 extra clear glass ornaments so that all of us could participate in the craft she had done at school with 70+ kids earlier. Essentailly, we pour five different colors of tempra paint into the ornaments then shook it vigorously. The end results was ty-die effect. We had the kids ready for bed by 8pm. The evening went much, much smoother.
I enjoyed a Jack & Fresca while relaxing on the sofa, and went ot bed around 11pm. Mindy was off to bed before me.
