...Like Nobody's Business

I was up about ten minutes late after a rather short night’s sleep. I don’t think that I fell asleep until midnight or after. I quickly went about completing my calisthenics and then walked Ykraps. The weather wasn’t very nice. In fact, it was raining hard enough that I had to grab the purple umbrella off the porch and from under the thriving English ivy before walking Ykraps.

I checked the weather radar when I got back home to see what my run would be like. There was a break in the rain but more on the way. It was forecasted to clear out by mid- afternoon giving way to brilliant sunshine for the following two days, my birthday included. That’s what I’m talkin’ about!  I delivered Mindy’s coffee and woke her for work before meditation and running.

It was 6:40am by the time I headed out the door. I still ran four miles seeing little value in cutting my run short. I stayed largely dry, too, thankfully. Once again, Mindy had my breakfast & lunch all ready for the go. She finally got up the nerve to ask how the Vikings game went. Bad! They lost. Errrr.  I explained how we squandered our opportunity to win in the final minutes. This was a school day for Bella. The two of them headed out around 7:20am.

By the time that Jacob and I left for Crissy & Kenny’s it was raining rather steadily once more. I grabbed the umbrella for a second time to keep myself as dry as possible before heading into work. However, not wanting the wet umbrella in my Trooper, I tossed it aside at the driveway as I pulled away from the house. It rained all the way into work, but had all but stopped by the time that I parked.

The day flew by. We moved our normal Wednesday Mgrs meeting to Tuesday to account for my peer’s coming vacation. That messed with my head a couple of times through the day. I kept thinking it was Wednesday.

Some time in the late afternoon Mindy advised that she left the dinner choice up to Jacob. He chose tacos. Good choice. That made me happy too. I just hoped Mindy remembered to make 2 lbs of meat. I had to stop for gas on the way home. Mindy had forewarned that prices went up significantly mid-day. It was $3.45 on my way in this AM, but $3.79 now. Crap, foiled again. I knew I should’ve stopped earlier. I didn’t get home until after 6pm. I was tired. Lucky for me, Mindy already walked Ykraps. The weather did as predicted. The skies were clear and the temperature cooling.

I was looking forward to devouring some tacos. I made mine last. Bella was having cereal. She dislikes Mexican. Go figure! Isn’t she from Guatemala?  Thought all Latinos liked Mexican food.

I had three big tacos. After dinner the kids headed out to play with their neighborhood friends. I moved into clean-up mode. Jacob asked if I would come out and throw the football with he and Evan after I was finished. I agreed. Just before heading out, Mindy and I found ourselves in a disagreement of sorts. I headed outside to play with the boys.

We threw the Nerf football for a good 30 minutes. Evan is only 4. He can’t catch a flying football too well yet, but that doesn’t stop him. He uses his body like nobody’s business. J He’s too funny – all boy!

After football, I headed in and took to the PC to update my blog for the past several days. Afterwards, I retired to the sofa where I did some writing using Mindy’s laptop after she headed off to bed again rather early.
