Up at 615am
Planning to work from home
Didn't exercise until after coffee and computer time, even considered skipping.
Ended up doing my regular Friday stuff: sit-ups, windmills, and push-ups.
Headed out for a run around 8am. Perfect day. About 57 degrees at run time. Supposed to reach 80 with lots of sunshine.
Mindy was home but spent most of the day preparing for her teacher pre-school year party set to begin around 4pm.
My goal was not only to have a short but productive work day, but also to cut the lawn during my lunch break.
Relaxing work day at home.
Headed out to cut the lawn near 1230pm.
Dry, cut with the tractor first and was able to do more than usual with it leaving myself much less to mow with the Toro. Still took about 90 minutes by the time I trimmed, edged and blew. Looked really good. For the first time all summer, the lawn's beginning to show signs of stress for drying out in spots. Might have to reactivate the irrigation system.
Mindy ran a few errands in preparation for her party.
She let me know that Mrs Anderson and Ms. Leahy, both Bella's former teachers were coming to the party. Bella didn't know it and Mindy didn't want me to say anything. Wanted it to be a surprise.
Stopped working around 3pm, though kept my laptop fired up so I could stay engaged if necessary.
Showered about then too.
First party guest showed up around 4pm sharp.
Mindy said she was expecting as many as 30 guests.
I called and invited Tom Clark. Said he would show up later but never did. Too bad.
I spent most of my time hanging with Mrs Anderson, her husband Mike, and Ms Leahy. Had lots of fun.
Mindy's teacher pal, Kerianne stayed way later than everybody else, not leaving until 930pm or so. Most others were gone by 7pm.
While Mindy and Kerianne chatted, I helped clean-up the party mess so we could wake up Saturday with a clean house, which always helps.
Drank a few beers earlier but then switched to Jack & Coke after the crowd left. Had just a small buzz when we finally headed to bed around 1030pm.
