The Big Blue Can
I wasn't too thrilled about having to get up and go to work, but then again, who is on a Monday? It was about 6am by the time I was full on into calisthenics. No problem. Spent about 45 minutes online before moving on to meditation and stretching. My laptop was still logged on to work. I spent about 20 minutes working, prepping for the monthly report I hoped to get completed before close of business on Friday. Had some technical difficulties. Not exactly a good way to begin the work week. Headed out on a run near 730am. It was cloudy and mild, about 67 degrees. Rain was forecasted on and off all day. Big surprise!
Like most work days, I ran 4.1 miles. No big deal. The recycling was picked up while I was running. We had the thing stuffed beyond the capacity, the mouth of the big blue can opened about 45 degrees to allow for the extra items.
Back home near 810am, I packed my lunch and made breakfast. Off to the shower near 845am. Arrived at the office near 930am. Immediately dug into the holiday week's agenda. The data issues from earlier were resolved midmorning. I got crackin' on my monthly report. Got some news about a peer moving on, leaving the company. Sad. Even worse, it likely means I'll have to work harder.
Mindy sent a text mid day asking if I would agree to pick-up Jacob at a friend's house after work, which was just a few miles north of my office. Yes. Once I had the address, I Google mapped it then sent it to my Gmail acct for easy access from my Galaxy3.
Come lunch time I escaped the clutches of my office and headed to Saturday's at Mill Run for a haircut. Just one other customer. They took me right away. Can't remember the girls name who cut my hair, but she's one of the better ones. Always friendly and chatty. Very efficient. Took no more than 12 minutes start to finish. I stopped at Home Depot before heading back to the office. There I picked up a new wax seal for our guest bath toilet.
I spent the lion's share of my work day crunching, sorting data for my monthly report. I left the office to fetch Jacob around 510pm. Of course it was spitting rain. His friend's house is in a very nice subdivision that straddles Dublin & Hilliard - Balantree. Jacob was waiting my arrival in the open garage. I still tooted the horn.
We headed home taking Avery up to 161/33 east then south on 270. Traffic wasn't heavy at all. Made excellent time. Mindy was just putting the finishing touches on dinner - that chicken and pasta dish she makes so well. We ate near 6pm. It was delicious.
After dinner and clean-up, I spent about half an hour playing guitar. Finally reestablishing the calluses on my guitar neck fingers. Spent a little time working from home as well, responding to a couple quasi-important emails. We headed to bed reasonably early, still ahead of 10pm. We watched a little Big Bang from bed before going to sleep.
