When Thursday's Thursday but Tomorrow's Friday
The morning came around quickly. I woke today just before 530am. And after some sit-ups and push-ups, I was out the door with Ykraps in tow. The morning sky that greeted the two of us was awfully kind. There wasn’t a cloud to be seen. It appeared that we were in for another beautiful autumn day. Ykraps took his dear ol’ time on our morning prowl, but that was fine by me given our early start. Too often I hurry him and forget that he only gets out twice per day for about ten minutes each go around. That's not too much.
I had already decided the night before that barring any unforeseen change in the weather, I would be driving the BM’er to work. Nothing change that either. I did my usual morning prep and was showered, dressed, and ready for work with ten minutes to spare. That gave me time to play some guitar and once again capture some sunrise pics. I am in awe of the landscape this time of year. I should really take my camera with me to work to allow a different perspective, a different view. Still, the color changes are occurring so rapidly making for a noticeable, yet subtle variation each day.
My drive was fun! The cool crisp morning air slapping against my face was nothing short of invigorating. I am a different person when I drive the convertible in. It just helps put me in a less serious frame of mind. Work was fast and furious, but nothing too horrible. We just had a lot going on. I made a dash for my afternoon run right on schedule. I was pleased to be able to run in shorts again today. I decided today that I’ll make it a goal to run in shorts at least once each month through the winter. December shouldn’t present too much of a problem, nor should February. January will be the iffy one. After all, temps in the forties are warm enough for shorts. The key to feeling comfortable is keeping the ears, hands, and gibblies warm – legs are last. Hey, I need some little game to keep me entertained!
The afternoon went about like the morning. I was busy right up to the end of the day. Mindy was planning to visit tonight, but we just weren’t sure what time. She received a call from her ex indicating that his flight was delayed. From my perspective that was no big deal. I had plenty of things I could do at home to stay busy and I did. After completing my usual stuff, I began blogging and emailing some friends. By 6pm, Mindy called and reported that she was already on her way. It seems her ex wasn’t that delayed after all. Sometimes pilots can make up for ½ delays without affecting the arrival time. She brought leftover chips and salsa we had from Tuesday night at her home. We topped them with some cheese and sour cream. They were very good.
We spent the next couple of hours relaxing and chatting. I can sure tell that Mindy enjoys the peacefulness that my home seems to offer. I've worked hard ot create that atmosphere. Her life is so busy, being a single mother and all. It’s good to see her relax a little. She left sometime around 830pm and I returned to blogging and playing guitar. I went to bed around 945pm and fell asleep almost immediately.
