Macation, November 21

Monday wasn’t a REAL Monday. Instead, it was a vacation Monday, and those barely count and shouldn’t be called Monday. In fact, I move that we think of another name for the second day of the week when there’s no work involved. Let’s call it Macation. And I’d be kidding you if I said I wasn’t just a little concerned that I might be stiff for my morning run. That Mountain bike ride really gave a work out to muscles I don’t normally use. Surprisingly, I felt pretty good. After exercise, coffee, run, breakfast, and play, Glenn and I set out for the day. Our first stop was Ester Short Starbucks. I had a venti Caramel Macchiato. I don’t recall what Glenn ordered. I do know that it was shame fully expensive. While enjoying our coffees, we took a walk around the park and ended up at the Vancouver Farmer’s Market. From there we headed by the theatre to see if there was a movie worth seeing. There was nothing that jumped out at us so we moved on. Next, we drove out to Vancouver Lake, which runs parallel to the Columbia River. What I would cal a pleasant surprise, we saw a Coyote foraging about. All totaled, we spent about an hour and a half taking in the sites of the waterfront. Once we’d had our fill, we headed to Jantzen Beach to do some shopping. Glenn wanted to buy a new 27 inch television and I wanted to buy a new memory card for my camera. We shopped Target, Copeland’s and Circuit City. Glenn found a good value on the television he desired and I found one heck of a deal on a 1 gig memory card. It was approaching 330pm. We headed back to Glenn’s place. We set up Glenn’s new television with little trouble. And because we’re on PST time, it was practically time to ready myself for Monday Night Football. The Minnesota Vikings were playing the Packers. We watched Xmas Vacation right up to the start of MNF. For our dining pleasure, Glenn made wings. They were very good. Long story short, the Vikings won. It’s their third straight victory and the second road win in a row, and both of those were outdoors. That’s big news for Viking fans. Final score: Vikings 20 – Packers 17. After the game we put in Fargo. I couldn’t stay awake and snuck off to bed around 10pm.
