Halloween - Trick-Or-Treat

Three day weekends have a way of making me feel a little remorseful about the idea of returning to work. That aside, I accomplished all I set out to do over my three day weekend and then some. I did a good job of balancing pleasure and chores. I pretty much played all day Friday & Saturday with just a few errands sprinkled in, and I dedicated Sunday to chores. Brother Glenn was set to return home this morning after a 17 day visit. I think his plane left Columbus sometime around 7am. His visit went by fast!!! I only spent a total of about 12 hours with him -one Friday and then all three Saturday’s. The weather today was nice enough that I really could’ve drove the BM’er but I didn’t. I just wasn’t in that type of mood. Again, it was a Monday. Today is Halloween. I half expected some folks at work to be in costume and even considered doing so myself. They didn’t – I didn’t. Thankfully work was busy enough to keep my full attention, but not too busy. Without thinking I brought my orange running shirt, so that coupled with my everyday running cap, which is orange too, left me looking appropriately like a pumpkin on my run. The day seemed to drag a little but given that is was the first work day after “falling back” that’s to be expected. Even though the clock says one thing, my body still senses that it’s an hour later. That leads me to the evening sky. I glanced out the window sometime around 415pm. I couldn’t help but notice the absolutely beautiful descent of the sun. What a perfect night for trick-or-treat! I got out of the office a little late, just before 530pm. The sun was already setting. I felt a little rushed because I still needed to complete my evening routine before trick-or-treaters began arriving. I did. Lucky for me, they didn’t begin showing up until about 620pm or so. I had bought about 7 bags of candy, so I felt armed with enough. Nothing is worse than having to dim the lights due to a candy shortage! I decided to spend the time between my trick-or-treaters updating my blog. I got behind a little over my three day weekend. I wish I had taken a few pictures of some of the kids that came to my door. There were some really cool, cute costumes this year. There were too many “Scream costumes, though! By 8pm I had seen my last trick-or-treater. I had an abundance of candy left over but that was OK by me, it’ll get eaten. I called Mindy some time around 8pm while enjoying the chicken wings I had just baked. This is the first Monday that we haven’t spent together since we met. We talked for a while. We both needed a good night’s sleep though. I was in bed with my eyes closed by 10pm sharp! Screw Monday Night Football! :)
