World in My Fingers

Bella's snowman meets untimely demise

Not sure of the exact time I rolled out of bed, but I know it was somewhere close to 8am. It was partly sunny and looked warm. After starting coffee, I checked the temperature. It was a balmy 61 degrees. I played around online for a while and also enjoyed coffee. I didn't set out on a run until about 930am. It was so nice that I didn't even need a jacket. I did, however, wear a winter-weight compression wicking shirt. Immediately out the door it remained partly sunny, but just to the west there was nothing but clear blue skies. And by the time I finished the three mile run those blue skies were only minutes away.

Mindy was up and out sitting on the deck with the pug. I topped off my coffee and joined her there much like I would most summer mornings. I pointed out that the sun was just about to clear the last of the clouds. Once that happened it was a gorgeous spring-like morning. We hung out on the deck for nearly an hour.

Near 11am I headed inside where I made a quick omelet for the three of us. I didn't add any fixin's until I'd parsed off a section for the pug. I then added only spinach and garlic salt to Mindy's. Added cheese, spinach and garlic to my own. It was tasty. My plan was to once again spend the day studying. While I did that, Mindy wrapped presents for the kids.

I studied from the family room all afternoon, though at1pm I tuned to Fox NFL coverage to catch at least some of the Bengals and Vikings game. I watched without much emotion and with the volume completely down. Studying was my priority 1.

Earlier, Mindy suggested we grill steaks on the grill for dinner, but as the afternoon progressed I sensed that the desire had faded. For one, the clear blue skies turned cloudy again and Mindy's cold/cough was seemingly taking its toll. Sure enough, by later afternoon, she no longer was interested in that idea. Instead, she suggested we have cream of chicken over rice. By then it was 630pm. I was still studying and did so until almost 8pm. I did, however, slip off upstairs for a shower around 530pm. Felt nice. Mindy spent her entire day wrapping presents. And by the way, the Vikings got crushed by the Bengals 42-14.

We are cream of chicken over rice around 7pm. Just as Mindy hoped, it hit the spot - comfort food. I studied for another hour or so before calling it a night. I got through almost all of the course material as well as the labs. I still wasn't feeling that confident about Monday's test, however, especially if it was anything like the practice tests I was subscribed to. I was averaging only about 65% with an occasional 80% sprinkled in. Mindy headed to bed early. I stayed up taking practice tests pretty much with the same results referenced above. Headed for bed somewhere close to 11pm.
