Bag the Study

Happy 75th Mother!

See, I can do this. I was up on time again and downstairs even before 530am. Done with exercise and pouring coffee by 540am. Felt good to get a jump on the morning. It was cold, only 10 degrees. I played online until 605am. Got an early start on meditation and stretching. Because Mindy wasn’t going to school, I chose to let her sleep without interruption. I heard her tell Bella the night before that she would still get her up for school and make my breakfast.

Dressed warmly and left on a run at 630am. It was cold alright – down to 9 degrees just before heading out, but at least there was no wind. As planned, I ran just three miles. Footing was a challenge but certainly doable. Of course there were the typical problem spots in the few cul-de-sacs and short off shoots along my well-established trail.

Mindy was up shortly after my return. I, in turn, walked the pug. Cold walk! I have about a 5 minute window after a run where my generated body heat keeps me warm and toasty despite the sweat. Any longer, however, and the cold slowly creeps in.

Mindy had my eggs on the stove. I headed up for a shower rather than wait. Pretty much the plan I followed all week with not a minute to waste. Downstairs again near 730am, I actually had plenty of time to enjoy breakfast and relax before heading off to class. Warmed the Accord around 745am and left 10 minutes later. I thought Mindy might take Bella to the bus stop though she didn’t. Don’t blame her. It was cold. She said she planned on taking care of some Xmas stuff during the day.

Class was a challenge, especially knowing that I’ll need to take and pass a difficult test in the next week or two. Yikes! My lab partner and I spent our entire lunch hour working on labs. Some fun! After eating some trail mix snacks provided by the course provider, I got a bad case of the sleepies around 230pm. Fought like hell to keep my eyes opened. We didn’t get out of class until 450pm, or 20 minutes late. Meh!

I was home by 510pm. It was only 15 degrees. Brrr! Believe we had pork roast for dinner. Mindy left to run Bella to gymnastics around 545pm. My goal was to take care of a few Xmas related tasks but then study after picking-up Bella. After clean-up but before leaving to get Bella, I got incredibly sleepy. I had to dose up again on Advil too due to my toothache. I wonder if there’s a correlation – tooth issue making me sleepy. Left to fetch Bella near 715pm. Got to see her final bounce or two on the double-mini tramp. She did good.

At home, I opted to bag the studying in favor of an extra early bedtime. I headed up at 830pm. Watched Thursday night CBC sitcoms from bed: The Miller’s, The Crazy One’s, and 2.5 Men. All three funny. To sleep immediately after.
