Green Bullet ... Not so Much

I was up early again, this time around 445am. Last day of class. Boy, was I ever happy about that. I finished calisthenics by 5am. Heat wave, already 20 degrees. Was forecasted to reach 32 by midafternoon. Plenty of sunshine too. Another snow storm set to arrive that evening though. Calling for as much as 6” but mixing with rain come Saturday morning. Ugh!

Woke Mindy near 610am then completed meditation and a stretch. Left for a run near 635am. Once again, ran only three miles. Footing was still an issue in the usual spots. Started Mindy’s Pilot when I got back to the house. I also sought out the pug for a walk. Mindy accidentally stepped on one of her front paws while making our bed the day before. As a result, she was struggling to put weight on it. That, coupled with the snow, made for a very difficult walk. She only peed and even that was a chore. And when we got back to the house, I had to carry her up the stoop stairs and into the house.

Like I had all week, I rushed off to the shower while Mindy put the finishing touches on my breakfast. I wasn’t sure if she’d still be home when I returned, so I said goodbye then. She was gone by the time I was again downstairs. Bella and I finished our ready. I asked Bella if she was game for skiing on Saturday even if it was just she and I. She was. With the coming snow storm, I was looking forward to it, even though Mindy declared herself out for wanting to work on Xmas as well as her Sunday Ava party.

We headed out together, she to the bus stop, me to the warm, waiting Accord. Made excellent time snaking through Arlington. In fact, made it to class earliest yet. Arrived at 810am. We spent until 915am working on labs. Still behind though. Bottom line, too much material to cover. No wonder the instructor was so crusty and rude about questions – no time for them. He was insistent that we get through all the lecture. I’m guessing he’s accountable to make sure he gets that done at all costs.
I didn’t he plans to go anywhere , so once again, we worked on labs through the lunch hour. The instructor had stated that he thought we might finish all the lecture by 230pm. Not sure what he was smoking. We had to stay late again just to finish lecture. It was 530pm when we finished. No time to finish the labs.

Earlier during a break, and then again at the end of class, the instructor apologized to me for being what he deemed mean whenever I asked a question. I accepted the apology, of course, but didn’t brush it off, because he was in fact ’mean’, actually, though, rude was a better description. You ask me, he’s got some anger issues buried deep inside. Like in college, my job is to learn the material, not to worry about how the instructor feels about me. Chances are big I’ll never cross paths with them again. Five days of class was now over. Time to move on.

Arrived home near 540pm. Felt good to get home. I had to spend about 30-40 minutes online for work taking care of a couple administrative tasks, including completing my weekly time report. Wrapped that up by 615pm.While I was busy wrapping up my work week, Jacob’s girlfriend, Lexie and her mother showed up. They were there to pick-up Jacob. Lexie’s mom agreed to take the two of them to the movies. We would then pick Jacob up at her house at 10pm. Lexie’s mother, Andrea, we learned is also a school teacher. And from our brief conversation I gathered that she’s a divorcee.

While Jacob was at the movies, Mindy and I planned to visit Barley’s. Bella, who had been playing in her room with Makayla and Emily asked if she could stay home with Makayla instead of going with us. The girls called Kenny to check. He was OK with it.

We left for Barley’s around 645-7pm. Parked in the back 40. Big crowd, standing room only and a wait out the door for a table. We mingled in the bar talking with peeps. Lots of regulars on hand. A fun night. Hung with Rick, Kent, & Steve. Little Bob was there for a while too. During the course of the evening, I enjoyed a Double Dog Dare from the firkin, and then a Green Flash Green Bullet – a triple IPA. I wasn’t impressed. To my palette, it’s one of those IPAs that offers little in taste. Instead, just a big bite. Think Monster from Great Lakes. I had just the two beers. We both ordered food, too. I went with my old favorite – the Cuban with bacon added. Yum!

We left Barley’s near 930p to pick-up Jacob from Lexie’s house. She lives in the subdivision across the street from the middle school. No fast, easy way to get there. We showed up at 950pm. Mindy sent Jacob a text sharing that we were on our way. He was waiting when we pulled up. Mindy got out and headed to the door where she talked with Lexie’s mom for a few minutes.

Jacob said he had a good time at the movies but was really hungry. Was disappointed that we didn’t bring home any food. I offered to stop at Cane’s chicken, a place I know he likes. That made him happy. Arrived home around 1015pm. Mindy called down to the neighbors letting Bella know that we were home. Bella was home a few minutes later. We spent the next hour or so hanging out as a family but also listening to music. I poured a beer. Can’t recall what kind. I poured a 2nd shortly before bed, but ended up covering it with plastic wrap and putting it in the fridge. As Mindy says, I always pour one too many. 
