Baby Grover (aka Sawyer)
It was another warm sticky morning only this time a bit cloudier. The forecast called for thunderstorms but I was a doubting Thomas. I did the usual morning thing: exercise, internet, meditate, stretch then run. I ran the full 4.1 miles after getting out the door somewhere close to 640am.
Prepped breakfast and lunch as soon as I was back home. Walked and fed the dog just ahead of my shower.
Mindy and the kids planned to meet my dad at the Der Dutchman in Plain City and then head to her friend Tara's place at Lake Choctaw. I mentioned a not so favorable weather forecast. She and the kids haven't had a lot of luck with the day's they've picked to head out there, especially considering that we've had so few rainy days.
Once again, I spent almost the entire day working on that same quarterly report. I was so deep into the data that the time literally flew by. I left for home shortly after 5pm having not taken any type of break all day long. I talked with Mindy who shared that they visited Tara but didn't go boating. The weather just wasn't conducive. They brought home of large box of Der Dutchman donuts and had a large vanilla cream filled Bismarck for me.
Early in the day, Mindy shared that her friend Karianne had her baby, a boy - Grover, 8lbs 6 ounces. She asked if I would go up to the hospital with her after work. Yes. But by the time I left for home I was mentally exhausted from a long work day. I begged out of the hospital visit. The kids were gone with their dad by the time I got home. Before heading off to see the baby, Mindy showed me the new running shoes she bought herself earlier in the day. You might be surprised to learn that they're purple. :) Mindy made arrangements to meet her teacher pal Phyllis near the hospital and then visit Karianne together.
I spent my relaxing evening alone playing on the internet, watering flowers, and napping. The kids were home around 815pm. Bella was disappointed that her momma wasn't yet home. Mindy didn't get home from the hospital until almost 845pm. She took the camera and showed us a few pictures she took of the new baby.
I spent the rest of the evening watching the Science Channel and napping. We headed to bed around 10pm.
