I struggled to wake on time but was up early enough to carry on with my normal work day routine. Before a run, I exercised, enjoyed coffee and internet, meditated and stretched. It was a warm humid morning with a temperature near 80 degrees. Can't recall a summer when it's been so warm early mornings.
I headed out for a run around 645am running the full 4.1 miles. Back at the house I prepped breakfast and lunch then walked and fed the pug. A shower was next. Mindy got up with me to enjoy some coffee. I explained that it was too warm to hang on the deck. I didn't want to get all sticky before leaving for work.
I spent almost the entire work day developing a format for my newest customer facing monthly report. There were the usual daily interruptions to contend with too. Just before leaving the Honda dealership Friday at lunch, I was told to expect a survey call as soon as Monday asking about my service experience. They asked me to be kind. I planned to be honest and share that I had to crawl under the car and tighten the oil pan screw myself. The call never came.
The work day flew by. Soon it was time to head home. Mindy sent a text to Bella's gymnastics instructor letting her know that we were keeping Bella at home since she complained of a sprained wrist, an injury she acquired while playing baseball or kickball with Jacob and friends.
Mindy invited niece Lindy to stop by after dinner at Minelli's. She showed up around 630-7pm along with her boy friend Josh. It was Josh's first visit to our home. After a quick tour they all headed to the deck while I finished reading an article or two about the Vikings. I eventually joined them on the deck, but went to the chaise where I took a brief snooze. It was about 20 minutes later when I headed back inside after getting bit countless times by flies.
I snuggled up in the family room chair reading and relaxing. Jacob came in asking if he could take some fireworks outside. Yes. He was out there entertaining Josh. It must've been about 8-830pm when everybody came back inside. Josh showed us all a little physic trick, reigniting a candle by simply placing the flame inches above the wick in the smoke trail. I was doubter but it really worked.
After Lindy and Josh left we settled in watching the History Channel. I fell asleep on the sofa after Mindy and the kids headed off to bed much earlier.
