More work & sunshine

I was up at 530am feeling well rested and ready to go. It was another clear morning with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees. I completed my exercise routine, rounded up Ykraps, and headed outside. There was a full moon providing an unusual amount of light. Quite lovely. During our walk, I remembered that it was voting day. However, at the time, I wasn’t sure when I’d vote (before, during, or after work). The rest of the morning went on as usual. I enjoyed some time on the PC, coffee, meditation, and stretching. Since it was around 40 degrees, I decided to go with two wicking shirts in lieu of one and a jacket. I still wore hand and ear covers. I was a smidge chilly immediately out the door but warmed quickly. I ran just three miles to prevent overdoing it. Back at home, Mindy had fried eggs ready and waiting. They were good. Mindy left for school and I headed off to the shower. The kids and I headed out for the bus at 7:55am. I left for work at 8:15am. By then I pretty much decided to vote after work. Given the issues, I wasn’t expecting much of a crowd. My work day went well. Once again, I didn’t bother taking a formal lunch break. I kept busy all day long. I called Mindy while on my drive home. She had just gotten home from our polling center (Raymond golf course). The reminded me that the kids were leaving with Jimaken destined for Jacob’s soccer team’s trophy ceremony at the Hilliard Dairy Queen. We tossed around going out to dinner but instead opted for leftovers. I stopped to vote before heading home. The Raymond g.c. parking lot was about a 1/3 full, but inside, there was next to no line at all, although the one other person waiting was in the ‘S – W’ line in front of me. I recognized her from our subdivision. There were four main issues: 1) a bond issue to help compensate war veteran’s 2) an issue to create a Livestock care standards board 3) an issue to allow 4 in-state casinos 4) Children’s Services levy renewal. In addition, we were voting for Hilliard school board members. I voted for my friend, Paul Lambert. Of special interest to Mindy was issue 47 – the SWCS levy. We couldn’t vote on it since we’re in the Hilliard SD but her interest should be apparent. For the record, I voted against the casinos. At home, the kids were still present. I walked Ykraps almost straight up. Jimaken showed up to get the kids a few minutes after we got back. Separately, Mindy & I plucked away at our computers for about 30 minutes, or until she started warming leftovers on demand. I asked for some of Sunday’s leftover pizza. She warmed it on the pizza stone in the oven. It was good! I ate just three pieces having made a pig of myself with nuts earlier. I was full. After food, I slipped over to the sofa and took a brief nap – about 15 minutes. After waking I returned to the PC. At about the same time, the kids returned home from DQ. Jimaken didn’t stay long. We confirmed that he still planned on having the kids Wednesday, too. Jacob and I headed upstairs to play Madden football on his Playstation. This time he whipped me good. I was the Vikings. He was the Colts. We played until 8pm when Mindy insisted we stop and he get a shower. Back downstairs, I tuned into The Universe on one of the ‘learning-type’ Channels. Tonight’s episode was about weapons in outer space. I found it interesting. Mindy & I headed to bed at 10pm. I was already starting to dose off from the sofa.
