Dr March in November

Thanks in large part to the exit of daylight savings time I woke a little easily Monday morning and just before 530am. I completed my exercises – sit-ups and push-ups - and then checked the weather. It was chilly, about 35 degrees. Ykraps and I headed out into the clear, cold, crisp morning air. It was quite enjoyable, really. We were back home in the warmth by 550am. Coffee was next. I was looking forward to it. I spent some quality time on the PC doing among other things, reading about the Vikings big win over the Packers. As one might expect, their victory left me giddy. I delivered Mindy’s coffee around 610am. She asked that I turn-up the heat. We typically crank it down pretty low at night. It was in effect off. After more coffee, meditation, and stretching I dressed and left for a run. I ran four miles. I was back home around 715am. The scrambled eggs were simmering on the stove. I poured a big glass of juice and helped get breakfast organized. I ate a big plate full of scrambled eggs. Mindy departed around 730am but had to come back in after realizing her Honda was covered in a coating of frost. It took just a few minutes to warm up and melt off. Soon she was gone. After a quick shower I was ready to head out with the kids. It was chilly but the kids wore just their thin fall jackets to the bus stop. I made a mental note for Tuesday. Chrissy & I chatted briefly before heading our separate ways. I was off to work by 8:10am. The work day went smoothly. I didn’t plan to take lunch since I’d be leaving around 3pm for a scheduled dental appointment. I ate my broccoli, cauliflower and tuna around 2pm. I thought about skipping brushing my teeth just to toy with my dentist, but in the end decided to floss and brush before I left the office. I arrived at Dr March’s office right on time. Heather called me back as soon as I got there. Heather took 4 bitewing x-rays then proceeded to clean my teeth. She used special hi-tech tool to clean around my lower retainer. According to her, lots of build-up. She later asked if I floss under it daily. I floss every day but not under my retainer. Too big of a hassle. Heather mentioned that she spotted a potential problem area on one of my x-rays (upper left molar). She asked if I felt any discomfort in the area. Nope! After the cleaning Dr March stopped in to give my mouth his once over. Said it looked good to him. It wasn’t until Heather asked him to focus in on #14 did he inspect a little closer and noticed that there was some decay forming under one of my fillings from 2002. If you ask me, they tried almost too hard to get me to commit to a crown. Wanted to schedule it right away. I asked that I receive a written estimate before making any decision. He and Heather seemed a little taken back with my response, but agreed. Said I should receive something soon through the mail. It was 410pm when I left the dental office. I decided to head home for the day. I took Tremont south to Lane Ave then across to Trabue and home. Mindy & the kids weren’t yet there. I wasn’t sure when to expect them. I knew that Jacob and Bella went home on Noah’s bus so Mindy could work late. Turns out, I had a good 45 minutes of alone time. I walked Ykraps and prepped Tuesday’s coffee. I was at the PC when Mindy & the kids got home. After Mindy got settled she offered that we’d be having burgers for dinner. Sounded good to me. Jacob and I tossed the football outback while dinner cooked. But because of daylight savings time, we were battling the onset of darkness from the very beginning. We had fun. Jacob was in much better spirits than he was Friday. We threw the ball until it was too dark. I checked the clock as soon as we got back inside. It was 6pm on the nose. Dinner was ready a few minutes later. Along with the bubba burgers, Mindy made green peas. I was impressed that Bella ate an entire bubba burger. She’s definitely a growing girl. After dinner, I spent a little time writing for my blog. I stopped in time to catch MNF – The Falcons vs. Saints. Mindy & I watched the entire first half. It was a really good game. We headed to bed at halftime.
