Who's in a Sour Mood?

After a long nap and a decent bedtime the evening before, I woke early and felt really great. I was downstairs before the clock struck 5:30am and also before the coffee maker slid into action. I pushed the ‘go’ button manually. I found my exercise shoes, glanced out back, and filled my water cup before starting my exercise regimen. I did sit-ups and push-ups. Outside with Ykraps, it was something like 66 degrees – quite comfy. It rained, it appeared, but nothing close to what I hoped for. And now, it was clear over head and the temperature was expected to reach well into the 80s. Storms were predicted for late afternoon. I was back home by 5:50am. I had a good 15 minutes to enjoy coffee before delivering Mindy’s. That was plenty enough time to play on the PC. I briefly toyed with the idea of backing up all of my May 2009 pics to CD but that would’ve been pushing it. In the end, I decided that too big a task to complete with the limited time window I had. I delivered Mindy’s coffee at 6:10am. I had plenty of time for a healthy meditation and stretch. I felt as good as I’ve felt in a long, long time. By the time I set out for my run the sun was already casting its dappled light through a thin scattered fog. It was really pretty. Due in part to the heavy water content in the air, I worked up a good sweat. Upon my return inside, I took Jacob onto the deck where I gave him a quick operational overview of his new video camera that he bought with his own money. He wants to take it on vacation. I took my camera out too. We took a few photos/videos. Back inside, he started filming Bella, who was already in a sour mood. His antics brought her to tears. She was hunkered down in a corner crying when I got inside. Mindy made Jacob stop his filming. I probably shouldn’t have, but snapped a photo of her, too. I eventually made good and calmed her down. She and I went out on the deck to take in the lovely morning sunshine and warmth. She was better once we headed back inside. Her, Jacob, and Mindy left for school around 7:30am. Mindy allowed Jacob to join her 7 Bella at school for field day. I headed off for a shower soon after they left. After a walk about the yard, I left for work. It was 8:10am. Driving by the golf courses (Raymond & Wilson Rd) was nothing short of a big tease. I so easily/happily could’ve spent the day golfing. It was gorgeous. Work was busy, but no overwhelming. The morning squirted by in a jiffy. In an effort to get a jump on a laundry list of pre-vacation to-dos, I left for the bank and Kohl’s at lunch. I stopped at the newest Hilliard Kohl’s first. I thought that I’d pick up a new swim suit and a much needed pair of comfortable dog walking shoes (slip-ons) that can also be worn sockless with shorts. My last pair of Born’s are approaching ten years old, and while comfy, the sole is worn and split. It’s time! I found some new casual slip-ons but I couldn’t find a swim suit that looked good on me. The new look is really long (below the knee). I am too short and stout for such a look. I headed to the bank for a little cash and tip money. Back to work. The afternoon progressed quickly. It was still quite lovely. In fact, it felt really warm – 83 degrees. I talked with Mindy before heading home. She shared that we’d be having burgers for dinner and that Rene would be joining us. By then it had clouded over and began to rain, at least in Grove City, where she was. I really wanted to grill the burgers but Mindy planned to fry them inside since it was raining. I must’ve arrived home around 6pm. It wasn’t immediately raining but it was obvious that it had been, albeit lightly. I walked Ykraps by myself. By the time that I got back, Rene had already called to cancel dinner plans with us. While Mindy put the finishing touches on our dinner I tinkered on the PC and gazed out the window. The burgers were ready by 6:15pm. They were extra good. Mindy must’ve doused them in the ‘magic’ seasoning that we got from Kenny. Along with the burgers, we had garden salads. The kids were quick to eat and dash back outside to play. But who could blame them? It was lovely outside. Clean-up was a snap save for the frying pan. We used paper plates for the burgers. I walked around the yard afterwards. Everything looked to be in order. I checked in on work some, too, but didn’t spend that much time on it. I eventually went to the family room floor where I stretched out flat on my back to relax. I woke about an hour later after some awesome sleep.J I woke hearing Mindy struggling with the kids, Jacob especially. He was giving her a hard way to go. I went to my PC where I started blogging until I deemed it time to tuck in the kids. Afterwards, I headed back downstairs and turned on the Reds game and popped some popcorn. No Bella. I was surprised that her sniffer didn’t draw her to the balcony. I bounced between the Reds game, Family Guy, and something else. Mindy headed to bed before 10pm. I stayed up a while longer, but not too late. I was again quite sleepy.
