Proof Reading 10 days Worth of Blog Entries

Happy 8th Birthday, Kaileigh!!! I woke just before the irrigation system kicked on, but literally only by a few seconds. I no sooner had put my glasses on my head when the machine gun-like noise began. I cheerfully started the routine. I brushed my teeth, grabbed my running clothes, and headed downstairs to start my calisthenics. I felt good and breezed through my workout. I headed out the front door with Ykraps carefully avoiding getting sprayed by the sprinkler system. We walked to the east to avoid it. It was about 60 degrees, and almost perfect. I returned and made my morning coffee. It felt great to relax in front of the PC with a hot cup of fru-fru coffee in hand. I had the time so I read some of brother Glenn’s blog, the Daily OM, and morning headlines. I played until 6:20am. Afterwards, I headed to the family room for mediation and stretching. Everything went along as planned. By 6:35am I was stretching again, only this time my groin, from the front stoop. I darted off a couple minutes later. It was quite lovely, the sun again already up and shining brightly. We were supposed to be fogged in but that didn’t materialize, at least in my neck of the woods. The run went really well. I finished strong. No one was up when I got back home, but it’s not like I expected anyone to be. I started working on my breakfast and lunch right away. I attempted to make an omelet just like Lolita in Mexico. It went fine until I tried flipping it like she did. Oops! I had egg all over the burner. It stunk to high heaven. I hurried to scrape it off and get it back in the pan. I obviously need more practice. I finished eating around 7:35am and headed up for a much needed shower. I took Mindy’s coffee along, too. I was showered and ready for work by 7:55am. I asked Mindy if she wanted me to wake Bella for snuggle time since she pitched one yesterday after missing out. She suggested that I not wake her. I left for work at 8:08am. Before driving off I walked about the yard enjoying the progression of my lawn. The area I seeded last fall is finally starting to look like real grass. There are weeds growing amongst it but I’ve hesitated to put down any herbicides on the young grass. I’m practicing patience. I’ve decided to wait until after the 4th of July. I arrived at work around 8:25am. I enjoyed the walk from the Trooper to the building. Very nice. The work day was much less stressful than Monday but we were by no means on easy street. It was still busy. There are varying shades of busy. I took a lunch at 1:00pm and drove to Home Depot. There, I was seeking a simple metal rod to act as the legs for our purple flamingos. I found a coated metal plant stake that will serve me well in that role for $.89. I also bought a planter and a new drain cover to replace the ones Justin tossed in the pond. Lastly, I bought a new wire brush to clean the gas grill grates. Back to work. I was gone a little less than an hour. After washing my hands I fetched my packed lunch. I ate my veggies and fruit, skipping the tuna fish. I wasn’t that hungry. Mindy mentioned that we were having grilled burgers for dinner. She also mentioned that my dad was over. I shared that I was making a stop at the ATM for cash but would be home by 6pm. Well, 6m turned into 6:20pm. I ended up working until 5:55pm. Dad walked Ykraps in my stead. I appreciate the assist. Dinner was all but ready when I walked in the door. After a brief greeting I headed back out to fetch my Home Depot purchases. Mindy seemed most excited about her new purple planter to replace the black one that Justin tossed into the pond. We sat to eat our burgers in short order. They were scrumptious. At some point during dinner, Mindy mentioned that we’d be spending Father’s Day at her sister’s celebrating a couple family birthdays. I wasn’t pleased, and for a couple reasons. As much as I love my extended family, spending Father’s Day with anyone other than my own dad, my children, and grandchildren seems wrong. I did my level best to keep my composure and not say anything derogatory at the time. After dinner I headed out back to install the new drain cover. Dad and Mindy followed. We spent some time on they deck just before dad headed out. Mindy wished my dad well after he excused himself for home. As soon as dad left I expressed my concerns over Father’s Day to Mindy. She didn’t accept my point of view too well. Feeling misunderstood, I took to watering the backyard flowers. I spent about 25 minutes watering. All the baskets and pots needed a good soaking. After finishing the watering I headed inside to work on my blog. Instead of publishing, however, I decided to proof read all 10 of my back dated entries. And just as you might guess, that took quite a while. I didn’t finish until after 10pm. I took a break around 9pm to tuck in the kids. Mindy was already in bed when I finished. Afterwards, I was too tired to publish. Maybe tomorrow.
