May Night Salvia

I didn’t roll out of bed until 5:40am. And even then, I wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep. That wasn’t to be, at least not immediately. I had to get up, exercise, and walk Ykraps. I was surprised when I checked the weather radar and saw red storms moving our directions. The temperature was warm – a balmy 63 degrees. The approaching storm was a rather narrow band, enough to make me consider my options relative to running. There was no way I could beat it, and I wasn’t going to run in it. It contained dangerous lightning and high winds according to Weatherbug. I decided to hold off until it passed, even though doing so would completely alter my morning routine and likely make me late for work. Honestly, there wasn’t a better option. I shared my plan with Mindy when delivering her coffee. While she showered, I plopped down on the couch. And I was there for nearly an hour. 15 minutes into my slumber the storm hit hard, a combination of rain, lightning and wind. I was glad I didn’t risk the run. The rain kept coming for much longer than I had hoped. By 7:20am I had a new problem on my hands. Since Jacob sets out for the bus at 7:57am I couldn’t hardly leave right then. I had to wait until he was off to school. I was dressed for my run even at the bus stop. I left a minute or two after they pulled away. It was still drizzling, but more importantly, the dangerous lightning was now beyond us. Just before I left, I sent an email to my boss and peers letting them know that I’d be late. I was back from my run by 8:35am. By the time I showered, dressed, and packed my lunch it was 9:15am. I arrived to work at 9:30am. Because of my late arrival, the morning went extremely fast. Go figure! In fact, the entire day moved swiftly. I didn’t bother taking a lunch, but thought I might stop at Lowe’s on my way home. That’s exactly what I did. I stayed at work until 5:30pm. I called Mindy. We were having tacos for dinner. She said I had plenty of time to stop at Lowes. At Lowes I picked up a 15000 sq ft bag of Scott’s Turf Builder, 6 - one gallon May Night Salvia plants, and a propane exchange. That was a quick $90. At home, I quickly unloaded my stuff and then headed inside. I had to walk Ykraps. He was very eager, too. The sun was out after a day of rain. The temperature hovered near 70 degrees, but there was a cool breeze blowing. Very nice! Dinner was ready in short order. I ate three large tacos. Bella had two hot dogs since she doesn’t care for Mexican. Can you believe that? I definitely wasn’t doing any yard work after dinner. And because it rained all day, I wouldn’t have to water the sod & seed. Yippee! After dinner, Mindy went outside and sat on our new patio by the pond. It was really nice. She fed the ducks our moldy bread. The carp enjoyed it too. We headed back inside after about 30 minutes. While she corralled the kids, I worked on blog entries. I’m behind a day or so, but several days behind publishing-wise. My neck was spasming some, so I laid down on the family floor flat on my back. That always seems to help. I fell asleep watching Office/ 30 Rock. I was sipping a rum drink just before falling asleep. I woke at Mindy’s prompting and joined her in bed. I was extremely sleepy.
