Grey Gorge

Up just a few minutes late and really tired. I proceeded with my routine as normal. I exercised and then walked Ykraps. It was a decent out – about 55 and partly cloudy. The forecast called for hit or miss showers but with plenty of sunshine sprinkled in along with seasonal temps – low 70s. After delivering coffee to Mindy I stretched out on the sofa and slept for another 20 minutes. I felt a lot better after the bonus nap. I alerted Mindy to my later than usual start in case she was gone when I returned from a run. I still took fifteen minutes to meditate and stretch. It was pushing 7:00am when I finally headed out. I passed an entirely different set of characters during my run, but given my late start, I wasn’t surprised. These were people I wouldn’t normally see provided they were on their ‘usual’ schedule. Mindy was still at home when I returned but just preparing to leave. The Honda was running empty. I’ll never understand why she warms her car in the spring. Mindy & Bella were gone in a jiffy. After seeing Jacob onto the bus I quickly prepared to depart for work. Once again I left my dad’s trailer attached to the Trooper in hopes of getting patio stone at lunch. I took the freeway after verifying that the trailer lights were working. That sped things up considerably. I was at work on time. The work day went smoothly. I left for lunch around 12:45pm. It was sunny and 70- something. Really nice. I went to the Riverside Dr Ohio Mulch. They were hopping busy with most people getting mulch, but a few were getting stone and other assorted landscaping products. Unless you’re buying an entire skid of stone, they can’t give you any idea how much it will cost, although they do have a price list with a per pound price. The trick is estimating how much you’ll need. I figured I needed 15-20 stepping stones for our simple project. The fella working the yard, and who later told me he was the manager, said that their scale wouldn’t accurately measure such a small load. He suggested I pick what stone I wanted and then he would eyeball it and give me a price. He also assured me that he would err in my favor. Having watched him do the same with a lady loading about a 1/3 of what I needed into her truck, I knew he was true to his word. He estimated that she had only 40lbs. He disappeared while I loaded my stone. I purposefully picked larger stones and ended up with 22 grey gorge stepping stones. Finally, when he reappeared, we agreed on 220lbs, or an average of 10lbs a piece. Having just picked each of them up, I knew that was more than fair - $32. The afternoon rolled along nicely. I left for home at 5:30pm. Mindy was making spaghetti for dinner. It was ready a few minutes after my return from walking Ykraps. Mindy agreed to clean-up the entire dinner mess allowing me to head out to move the stepping stones from the trailer to the backyard. I used the wheel barrow to move them. Because the patio area wasn’t ready and I didn’t want to damage the lawn, I placed them in one of the flower beds surrounding the deck. Neighbor Kenny came over after seeing me move stone. He thought maybe I was placing stone in my beds in lieu of mulch. I chuckled. I watered the sod before heading in. I noticed that it’s already growing at a feverish pace. I’ll need to cut it this weekend. While Mindy got the kids ready for bed, I played on the PC. We tuned into the Science Channel after the kids were tucked in. The Power of Six Degrees was the program I was interested in watching. Unfortunately, I fell asleep. Next thing I remembered was waking and rushing off to bed. I know it was before 10pm but no other details.
