Sprinklers
The work day was officially off and running when the clock struck 5:30am. My thoughts immediately turned toward the sprinkler I purposefully left running all night in an effort to soak the deeper phase of the back yard. I was just a little nervous about leaving it run all night unattended. But those fears vanished when I glanced out the back door and saw that it was still running strong.
I felt good after the weekend’s sudden illness. I started in with my calisthenics right away. Soon Ykraps and I were outside, our walk underway. It was a warm & steamy morning with oodles of stars. Very nice! After our walk, I went out back to relocate the sprinkler. I would water up until leaving for work.
My run went well – strong. I ran 4 miles. I packed the usual for lunch and made the same old fried eggs for breakfast. Nothing out of the ordinary.
After a shower, I was ready for work around 7:55am. Before heading out, I went out to shut down the sprinkler pump. I departed at 8:10am. Work was busy – always is on a Monday. Mindy emailed early Monday morning to let me know that she booked a house on Lake Norris. Hmmm? I wasn’t expecting that, although I was pleasantly surprised. Sounds like we’ll be enjoying our week’s vacation with the kids in Tennessee instead of at Alum Creek after all.
I left work for home at the usual 5:30pm. Because Kaileigh spent the night, her step-mother, Shellie was coming to pick her up after work. Mindy let me know that she’d be having dinner with us, too. We were having brats, burgers, and chicken. Mindy was already doing the grilling! Even though I was pretty much recovered after my weekend illness, I was feeling a little run down after the long work day. Kaileigh and Bella joined me on the walk with Ykraps. Meanwhile, Mindy continued preparing dinner.
Just prior to dinner I got the sprinkler restarted only this time with one of the two new sprinkler heads I bought earlier in the day during lunch. Dinner was good. Shellie, of course, had Sienna Grace in tow as well. Shellie and Mindy get along well. Shellie trusts Mindy’s advice. Shellie, Kaileigh, and Sienna left around 730pm. The kids dashed out to play for a spell.
All of us were in bed by 10pm. I was very sleepy and hoping for a pleasant night’s sleep.
