Snow Anyone?

There’s got to be a connection between the name Decem-ber and the weather. Burr - it’s cold! I woke Sunday morning at 715am and was ready to hit the ground running. Mindy, however, had other plans. She wanted snuggled for a few. I knew, too, that she wasn’t feeling so well for the nasty cough she had through the night. After some quick snuggling I was downstairs going about my morning ritual like most mornings. It was 730am. Mindy chose to sleep longer, and my bet was much longer. I exercised, lifted weights, walked Ykraps, emailed, and coffee’d and still no Mindy. It was now 850am, so I went ahead and prepped for a run. Mindy wanted to keep sleeping, and that was perfectly OK by me. I like my morning alone time a lot. I ran with Bing Crosby in my ears this morning. It proved to be more than festive! The temperature was 10 degrees – chilly by any measure. Still not a problem for me! Upon my return, I checked once again on Mindy. She was still tired and wanted to sleep even more. Perfect! I decided to begin wrapping presents. Lord knows I have enough of them to wrap. I would first wrap Glenn’s as his will need to be shipped first AM Monday to ensure a pre-Xmas delivery. I managed to get his completed and packed neatly into a shippable carton in good time. Just as I was finishing up, Mindy joined the conscious world. It was practically 11am. She slept for just under 12 hours. I couldn’t do that if someone paid me to. I made her some coffee and both of us some breakfast (sausage and scrambled eggs). We were both pretty hungry. I even gave Mindy a peek at the “artsy” gift wrap I found and used for Glenn’s Xmas packages (very cutting edge and trendy). After a quick breakfast (we had to hurry because lunch time was fast approaching) we enjoyed a roaring fire. Soon it was time for Mindy to head to her Mom’s house as she does almost every Sunday afternoon. She left around 2pm. I was invited and planning on going for Sunday dinner, but thought that I’d run some Xmas related errands first. After she left I cleaned up a little, downloaded the day before’s pictures, and then played my saxophone. Before I knew it, it was time to ready for Mindy’s mom’s. I took a glance at the football scores and learned that the Vikings had allowed their game against the Steelers to slip seemingly out of control. They were behind by the score of 18-3. Hey, can’t win them all! I left for Gloria’s at 402pm. I was asked to be there no later than 415pm. I arrived right at 415pm too. I am good! Most of the family was there again along with some friends of the family, Pat and Melody whom I hadn’t met before. They were equally as pleasant and entertaining as the rest of the family. We were having a special entrée tonight, Goolosh! Along with that we had cole slaw, lots of veggies, corn bread, and deviled eggs. Everything was simply delicious. I hung at the dinner table for most of the evening enjoying the family banter. After dinner had settled we partook in a plethora of desserts. There were several types of sweet breads, some fruit salad jello, and chocolate cake. Sometime around 730pm we loaded up the children and headed out. I went to Mindy’s home where we would spend a couple hours together, just the four of us. I had a Belle’s Pale Ale and a bowl of popcorn while relaxing on the sofa. I got so comfy that I even dozed off a time or two. It was snowing again tonight and the temperature was heading towards being brutally cold. We’ve had several of these quick hit snow storms of late where we get about 1 inch of snow in a hurry. If nothing else, it keeps the terrain looking Christmassie! At home I immediately tethered up Ykraps and went for a walk. He hadn’t been out since around 8am. He had gone about 15 hours without being outside – OUCH! After our walk I was wide awake again. I decided to read a little, play guitar, and snack some more. I have a shit load of junk food in my fridge. I need to be careful not to get too attached. I went to bed around midnight!
