Rain in the Offing

I was up for work near 6am and moved swiftly through my pre-run routine of exercise, meditation, stretching, coffee and internet. I stopped upstairs to see Mindy before I left on my run fairly certain that she'd be gone by my return. I asked that she make Bella aware that I might not be back before she needed to catch the bus. What helped motivate me out the door was the threat of rain baring down on the CMH metropolitan area. Of course my preference was to stay dry.

For a couple reasons, I ended up curbing my run to only three miles. One, that would get me back home with plenty of time to make sure Bella was prepared to leave for school. And two, I managed to avoid the coming rain. At the time, I still wasn't sure if I was going to work from home or office. Mindy was already gone when I got back home, but that I expected. It was about 745am. I enjoyed breakfast and then walked the pug. By the time we were back it was time for Bella to leave for school.

Ultimately I decided to work from home. I'd already dug into a couple issues via email and none of my immediate team members would be in the office that day, either. The rains came, and I was happy about it. In fact, the forecast called for three straight days of rain. We really needed it.

Working in my running clothes, I stayed busy all day long. During what I'll call my lunch break, I edited Lindey's wedding photos. I planned to finish the rest after work. The kids and Mindy were home before I knew it. I didn't get a shower until almost 4pm. Mindy was excited that we didn't have any extracurricular activities on the Monday evening calendar, a welcome sight after such a busy weekend.

For dinner we had leftovers. Mindy and I had spaghetti warehouse leftovers - lasagna. Good stuff. After dinner I spent more time editing wedding photos, in all more than 300 photos.
