Halley & Newton

Up near 615am. Again, didn’t really want to get up. Exercise, coffee, internet. Woke Mindy near 630am.

Planned to work across town but not until 1030-11am. Would work from home until then.

Weather forecast looked was fantastic. Supposed to be warm and sunny most of the day but rain moving in late in the night.

Mindy left for school near 730am. Bella & I headed out at 8am. Walked the pug after Bella was boarded on the school bus.

Ran 4.1 miles. Almost 50 degrees out the door. Slightly over dressed and as a result, a tad warm.

After a run, I fried a few eggs for breakfast. Gave one to the pug.

Gorgeous day shaping up outside – brilliant sunshine and warm.

Worked at home until 10am. Stopped for gas before getting on the freeway. Took about 14 gallons. 23.5 mpg last tank full.

Got a parking spot up close. But it was such a gorgeous morning a long walk from the deepest depths of the lot would’ve been OK by me.

Spent my time working on a special project. Around noon received notification that our Tuesday 1pm meeting was canceled due to so many vacations. Had I known that earlier, I wouldn’t have driven clear across town.

Around 130pm I packed my stuff and headed back home to finish out my work day. Man, was it ever beautiful. It was our first day above 70 degrees all year. After eating my packed lunch consisting of salad and tuna and cheese, I took Eiknarf out back for a brief walk around the yard.

Before digging into work, I called Orkin to complain about seeing more piss ants Monday. Told them their service was a farce and asked what I paid for. The service manager asked if he could come out to our home and check out the situation. Agreed to come on Friday between 12 noon and 2pm. Now we’re seeing them in the master bath of all places.

I spent most of the afternoon working on that special project. Before I knew it the kids and Mindy were home. Both kids had events that night. Jacob had soccer practice and Bella had gymnastics. Jimaken was coming by to take Jacob to soccer. Mindy boiled down what remained of the rotisserie chicken the night before. She started chicken & noodles shortly after she got home.

I finished out my work day around 515pm. We sat for dinner shortly thereafter. Bella wanted only a hotdog before Mindy left to run her to gymnastics. The chicken & noodles were delicious. I can’t recall if Mindy came back home or if she went to run errands, seems the latter. In any case, the time went fast leading up to needing fetch Bella. I left the house near 717pm. Made excellent time, and thought I had plenty of time to spared, but Bella was already changing into her street shoes and ready to go once I was inside the door.

As we exited the freeway for home, she asked which restaurant we were stopping, McDs or Wendy’s. Nice try. Neither. Told her that I’d gladly warm her some chicken & noodles. She asked for nachos instead. Sure. After getting her some nachos I did some writing for my blog. I also contacted Line Skis about my broken Whip ski pole.

Mindy & I were off to bed shortly after 9pm. We opted to allow Bella to stay up later than us provided she was in bed by 930pm. She promised. I fell asleep for about an hour but woke when Mindy got up for something and then couldn’t return to sleep. Rather than toss and turn, I got up and headed back downstairs.

By then Bella was off to bed. I popped some popcorn and tuned into a program about Edmond Halley and Isaac Newton. Cool program. Headed back to bed near midnight.
