MoviPrep

By design, I slept a few minutes late allowing myself to get some much needed extra sleep. The coffee was just finishing up its brewing cycle as I headed into exercises. It was 6am by the time I settled in front of the PC with my coffee. Played around online for just a few minutes, and somewhere close to 610am when headed to the family room for meditation and a stretch. We were expecting another pretty nice day – 80 and sunshine. Chance of rain later in the evening though.

Woke Mindy around 625am. Dressed and left for a run soon after. It was nice – 60 degrees and clear. I ran the full 4.1 miles working up a good sweat along the way. Back at the house after the run and after walking the dog, Mindy asked if I planned to be at Jacob’s soccer game. Yes. The game wouldn’t begin until 645pm.

Headed for the shower around 740am. Was ready within 20 minutes. The kids and I were at the bus stop at 808am. Chrissy shared that she was staying home with Annie. Lucky her! I headed back home with the pug where I tidied up the house a little ahead of Rachel’s arrival. It was a house cleaning day. Mindy had a check as well as the Tupperware containers she left in our fridge two weeks ago sitting out on the island. I didn’t leave for the office until 830am.

Arrived at the office around 845am. Once again, I spent most of my day working on monthly reports, though I was drug into a hotly escalated issue mid day that kept me from making the progress I had hoped for. I took a lunch near 1230pm and drove to Strader’s to get more flowers. I picked up another flat of petunia’s I left work for soccer around 540pm, but instead of heading directly to the soccer fields I stopped at CVS to pick-up my colonoscopy prep prescription (Moviprep). I called the gastroenterology practice last Friday and got the script changed to a liquid that would require me to consume half as much of the nasty liquid before the procedure. Originally, they had me drinking an entire gallon of some other crap called Trilyte. At least with the movieprep, I needed only to drink half that amount. Took a while. They didn’t have my prescription information on record. Even with my coverage, the stuff cost me $38 out-of-pocket. There’s not much about this colonoscopy I’m enjoying.

I left CVS and headed to Spindler soccer fields. Even with the delay at CVS I still arrived well ahead of Mindy, who shared that she would be late after choosing not to come until she dropped Bella off at gymnastics at 7pm. I set up right at center field. I was soon joined by dad. Didn’t even know he was coming. He talked about my colonoscopy openly causing me embarrassment amongst the other nearby spectators. I shushed him a time or two.

Mindy showed up around 715pm. And by the time she arrived Jacob’s team was up 2-0. And while the sun was out earlier and the temperature in the mid 70s, a storm was moving in along with wind and much cooler air. It wasn’t long before everyone wished they’d brought jackets. During halftime grandma Sharon and Dick showed up to watch the rest of Jacob’s game. That was awfully nice of them. All three of the refs looked like they were under 18 years of age. The kid working our sideline turned to us and asked that we alert him immediately if we spotted any lightning. It looked scary but we never did see lightning.

Unfortunately, the Dublin team scored the tying goal late in the 2nd half. It was looking like it might be a repeat of an all too familiar pattern this season. But this time Jacob’s team kept their wits about them and scored the go ahead goal with less than a minute to go and held on for a dramatic win, only their 3rd of the season against 5 or 6 losses. We were very happy for Jacob and his fellow team members.

Thanked dad, Dick, and grandma Sharon for coming. We headed for home. It was already after 8pm. Where had the night gone? I was really hungry and eager for some food. I asked mindy if she would make this prepackaged chicken & rice while I went after Bella at gymnastics. She agreed to willingly. I asked that she throw in a can of tuna too. I was surprised to find the front door to DCW locked and no one in the office. Knowing that they often open the rear overhead doors when it’s warm, I drove around back. Sure enough, it was. I waited there for Bella to get her stuff together.

During the ride home I told Bella that Jacob’s team lost 9-0. Her response was almost comical. She didn’t plan to make any mention of the loss fearing she might get her head ripped off. Once home she quickly discovered that I was pulling her leg. Mindy dispatched her to the shower while I enjoyed the tuna and rice.

We watched a little TV then all of us headed for bed fairly early. I was really tired from being under slept both Saturday and Sunday.
