I was up and downstairs by 540am. I had to prep coffee having failed to do so the night before. Not a big deal. Next up was exercise where I whipped out 50 sit-ups then 50 push-ups. It was a mostly cloudy start but I could still see the moon glowing through the cover. The forecast promised clearing skies but with the high not making it out of the 60s. Looking ahead, we're in for a three or four days of sunshine with temps near 70 degrees.
I played on the computer for at least 20 minutes and truth be told, I wasn't too excited about moving on with my day. But pull myself away I did somewhere close to 615am. I headed to the living room for meditation. I finished that around 625am then headed upstairs to wake Mindy. She was already awake, her eyes opened while still lying in bed. I dropped off her coffee, gave her a hug, then went back downstairs to stretch and then head out on my run. I switched over to a long sleeved running shirt since the temperature was in the mid 50s. I headed out the door around 640am and watched the city pick-up our trash while I stretched my hammies from the porch.
I ran the full 4.1 miles with the sky clearing more and more with each passing mile. By the run's end most of the cloud cover was east and south of town. Back at the house I took Eiknarf on her morning walk then returned for my breakfast. This would be my last breakfast until Saturday, at least according to the colonoscopy instructions. No meals all day Thursday and again on Friday until after the procedure. I complained to Mindy how the entire process seems so barbaric. While savoring my eggs, I shared that I might eat one egg Thursday morning since my procedure isn't until 1pm Friday figuring I'd be totally cleaned out by then for certain. Mindy agreed that there should be no harm in eating something that early Thursday.
I've reread the instructions several times. Said I should eat raw vegetables two days prior. I had veggies packed in my lunch and didn't plan to change it. They also asked that I avoid nuts or seeds two days in advance as well as no alcohol. Torture, I tell you. So if not eating isn't bad enough, the solution I have to drink is supposed to give me diarrhea. Talk about adding insult to injury. And here I thought the solution was to make my colon glow. If you can't already tell, I'm having a hard time with this thing.
I headed for a shower around 740am after making sure Bella at something. She told Mindy & I she wasn't hungry, but we insisted she eat something. She opted for a number of strawberries, but that's it. I was showered a ready by 756am. Before heading downstairs I reminded Jacob to bring down the doggie gate. Said he would. I finished packing my lunch ahead of bus time. The kids and I headed out at 808am. By then we had full on sunshine. Hung with Kenny and the kids until the bus showed up.
Left for work at 830am after a 2nd cup of coffee and sending an email off to Lindsey's auto insurance agent. Took 670 east and didn't encounter even the smallest traffic snarl. Consequently, I made excellent time scoot around town to New Albany arriving around 850am. By then it was a warm, sun drenched morning and a lovely walk into the building. Our 10am call was cancelled due to our monthly service meeting at 11am. All things considered, that meeting went pretty well. It went long too. I had another meeting across the campus set up for 1230pm. I had only enough time to gather my things and drive over. Showed up at 1225pm. That meeting went long too. I was there for two hours, leaving just a couple more hours to my work day, which to that point was flying by.
I didn't bother taking a lunch break but did woof down my cheese and veggies as soon as I was back at my desk. I was hungry. I caught up on the email and then joined yet another meeting/conference call at 4pm. That meeting went until 445pm. I wrapped up my day by 5pm then headed for home. I'm thinking that I was around 270 & 161 when I called Mindy. Said she was already making dinner. I reminded her that I wasn't supposed to eat raw veggies or anything red. This was also supposed to be my last meal until post colonoscopy. Our conversation was relatively brief. As is usually the case, I encountered a back-up near the Cemetery Rd exit all the way to my exit 2 miles down the highway.
I'm thinking it was 540pm when I arrived home. By then dinner was all but ready. Mindy grilled boneless chicken but spiced it up with a chipotle marinate. It was good. She made asparagus and corn on the cob too. I skipped the corn on the cob but did enjoy four spears of asparagus. Earlier in the day I thought I might plant some flowers, but after dinner and clean-up about the only thing I was interested in doing was sleeping. I took a nap as soon as I was through with my chores and even before Mindy left to take Bella to gymnastics. I ended up sleeping until just before 8pm when I woke in time to catch Idol. As 815pm neared, Mindy offered to go after Bella giving me a break. I was already in my PJs. I appreciated the gesture.
We watched the entire 2 hours of Idol. Don't know about the rest of the family but I'm about done. Good thing the season's about over. Just two more weeks. As soon as the Idol was over we all headed to bed. Good night moon!
