Skiing our Asses Off

Busy day – up early – 7am Run 3 miles – plan to ski I packed sandwiches, cheese, water, candy Leave the house at 1015am – stop for gas at Thornton’s – Honda on “E” Stop by my office to drop off boss’ Xmas gift - $50 Big Fat gift card from my peer and I Visited with boss for a good 30 minutes 11am we’re on the road to Mad River Arrived just before noon – I pick-up lift tickets while Mindy peed Geared up and hit the slopes by noon. Took a green run to get started Skied for 1.5 hours then took a beer break Pitcher of Sam Adams and popcorn Kid at the next table over was having senior pictures taken on the slopes snow boarding. Photographers riding up lift with camera gear – cool idea! Mindy & I chatted with his mom for a good hour. – Springfield family – busy for holidays. Family coming in from all over. Mindy shares that we did too. Back to the slopes at 2:30pm. We took the gladed trail. I fell twice, each time going over a steep drop. Didn’t see it coming. We originally planned to ski until roughly 6pm, but ended up calling it a day just after 5pm. We were skiing well but didn’t want to push it, skiing three out of the last five days. We arrived home just after 6pm. Mindy showered while I walked Ykraps. I showered next. For the next hour Mindy wrapped Xmas presents while I worked on my blog. We left the house at 815pm needing to be at the airport to pick-up brother Glenn at 10pm On our way we planned a brief stop at Barley’s to drop off Xmas gifts for our favorite servers and to have two growlers filled. We sat with Rick & Paul sharing stories & sipping a beer. We left gifts for Janet, Deanna, Diedra, and Sarah. We still need to hook-up with Beth. We weren’t there long – about 45 minutes. We left for the airport at 9:25pm. We parked in short term parking ($2 per hour) 4-south. Inside we learned that Glenn’s plane had just landed. We headed to the northern most concourse –“C”, I believe. As usual, Glenn was one of the last off the plane, and was wearing his ski pants presumably to save room in his carry-on. With no checked luggage we were on our way home in a jiffy. Everyone was hungry. We stopped at the Hilliard Rome White Castle drive-thru. At home, Mindy headed back to the basement to do more wrapping. I believe she finished around midnight. Glenn and I sipped beers, ate food, and talked about family until 1 or 2am. Glenn would be bedding in Jacob’s room for the duration of his stay. With Mom expected to arrive on Thursday (Xmas Eve), the guest room was set-up for her.
