Cloudy but warm

I was up by 5:40am. In short order, I was well into my daily grind. I was glad it was Thursday and gained comfort knowing that the weekend was practically upon us after another brisk moving work week. I didn’t pay too close attention to the weather forecasted for the day, but knew it was expected to reach the low 70’s but with more rain. The morning at home was uneventful with each of us going about our usual paces with little variation. But life’s like that sometimes, especially during the work week. I left for work at 7:50am and arrived shortly after 8am. The work day was fast paced and left little room for reflection. I kept the proverbial nose to the grind stone all morning long. But soon run time came around as it always does. And while the skies were cloudy, the temperature was well into the 60’s making for excellent running conditions. I listened to CD #3 of Beyond Belief. I’m finding myself so immersed in the story that I can hardly believe that I’ve just completed five miles of running. That’s a good thing! The afternoon began with lunch and ended with a somewhat late evening at the office due in part to my evening peer being out ill. There were a couple of issues needing management level attention that I couldn’t leave setting. I arrived home a bit weary after a long exhaustive work day. Mindy made a couple “ranch” steaks (still not sure what they are) that she bought from Market Day at school. They were good, however. We did little else through the evening hours. After the kids were put to bed, Mindy and I chatted briefly. Bob I. gave me a call around 8:30pm wondering if I would be interested in a round of golf this coming Sunday morning. I was eager to do just that but let him know that I’d have to discuss it further with Mindy. I promised a call back to let him know for certain. We went to bed early, both of us tired.
