When Wednesday's Friday

Wednesday being the third day of the work week is generally referred to as “hump day”. Today, however, it represents a false Friday. Because of this, I woke with an extra skip in my geddiup. Although I didn’t really want to, I went about my morning routine as usual. I took the time necessary to pack a lunch and make my breakfast. The Trooper was attached to the boat so I planned to drive the BM’er to work. Mindy had to work today too. Her van was packed to the ceiling with most of our camping gear, so she had to use a shoe horn to load the kids. Mindy called me a couple of times throughout the day noticeably stressed because she was feeling the pressure of the fast approaching first day of school and her classroom’s not quite ready for prime time. However, by days end she had a bunch done and made arrangements for her helpers to do some stuff while we camped Thursday and Friday. I left work at 330pm after a team meeting. Before heading home, I made a quick stop at Kroger to get cooler ice (3- 22lb bags) some beer, and some cookies. We began loading the coolers and packing the remaining gear into both of our vehicles. Soon Glenn and Ashley arrived, albeit separately. Ashley would be staying at our house while we camp tending to Ykraps. We were all loaded and ready by 5:10pm. Tommy was already at Alum Creek and had set up camp on G-22. Mindy took a quick shower since we were twenty minutes ahead of plan. We left the house at 5:35pm destined for Alum Creek. Glenn, Jacob, Bella, and I rode together in the Trooper pulling the boat. Mindy had solitude in her loaded down mini-van. We arrived at Alum Creek at 6:25pm and immediately began setting up. Set up is always a little stressful, at least for me, trying to get everything just so. By 8pm we were settled and we all took a walk through the woods, by the fishing pond, and down to the beach. When we gathered back at camp we cooked some chili dogs and made the kids some smores. After a couple of beers we bagged it for the night. We were in bed by 10:30pm.
