Bob's thing
I was up and milling about the house well before 8:00am. Everyone else remained asleep. I was eager to stay on task and finish my routine and run before 10am. While enjoying some coffee with Mindy on the deck, Glenn woke up. It was only 9am (6am his time). Soon, I went in and dawned my running shoes and headed out for a run.
I lieu of a home cooked breakfast, we opted for a trip to Bobby Evans. I was back by 10am and ready to get a move on since we were all headed to brother Bobby’s house for an afternoon cookout that was slated to begin around noon. Lindsey called and said she was coming over to my house before Bobby’s. We invited her to go along with us to Bobby Evans. We knew just how much she likes it. Soon we were headed out. We were seated in two booths at B.E.s. I sat with Glenn, Lindsey, and lil’ Rocky. Mindy sat with Jacob and Bella. Soon, everyone was enjoying their entrees. At noon we left for home, but not before I headed next door to pick-up some El Vaquero Chips & Salsa to take to Bobby’s cookout (not to be confused with Bob Evans).
After we arrived home, Daughter Ashley called to see if she could ride to Bob’s with us. Sure! We waited for Ash. A little after 1pm we left for brother Bob’s. I noticed along the way that gas prices had dipped to $2.58 a gallon. J At Bob’s, the food was all laid out when we arrived, but I was still pretty full from breakfast. Others seemed to be hungry and began stuffing themselves almost immediately. Despite a very gloomy weather forecast – one that called for heavy showers through the day, the sky continued to brighten all day long. Come late afternoon, it was sunny and warm. Of course the weather didn’t stop the kids from getting in the pool. They swam all day and all evening. I hadn’t seen cousin Dodie & Randy since last Labor Day at her yard party, and aside from running into Connie and Alysia at Wal-Mart back in the spring, I hadn’t seen her since Labor Day either.
Pregnancy seemed the theme at Bob’s – Ashley, April, and Adams girl friend. Next year the party will include at least five new babies. OUCH! As the afternoon/evening wore on, we played several rounds of cornhole. I was not on my game. A little later Ashley and Lindsey got into a spat. Ashley wanted to leave but her car was a t my house. Mindy gave Ashley a ride to her car. We stayed at Bob’s until about 10pm. The kids were getting cranky. Once we were home I logged onto the internet to follow the Vikings/Steelers game. I followed it via gamecast up through mid-4th quarter. It was 17-10 when I went to bed, which ended up being the final score too. Glenn stayed at Bob’s.
