First Day of School - Bus Stop @ 655am

First day of school for Jacobella. And this marks a milestone of sorts in that we’ve put the walking the kids to the bus stop era behind us. His school year both Jacob and Bella will be riding the middle school bus and the pick-up time it an early 653am.

In order to ensure both kids were up and off to school on time, Mindy got up near 6am while I remained in bed a while longer. I was up around 630am though, with plenty of time to snap a couple school year beginning photos. Both kids downplayed any excitement but I could see and hear it in their voices.

And while they headed to the bus stop on their own, I soon followed with the pug just so I could get more photos as well as fostering perhaps a little embarrassment.  I’d already completed my calisthenics, so back at home all I had to do was meditate, stretch, and run.

that’s school’s back in session, looks like somebody turned the summer weather back on… finally heading back into the upper 80s and low 90s along with high humidity. Of course Mindy’s school doesn’t begin for another couple weeks or after Labor Day, but at least she’ll have A/C for the first time ever. I ran 4.1 miles on an absolutely gorgeous summer morning. Worked up a good sweet.

Left for work after a leisurely breakfast, packing my lunch and taking a shower. Arrived across town near 10am. Busy day working from the customer’s headquarters. 1pm meeting came around in a hurry. Meeting went for just short of an hour. Busily, I stuck around the office until 430pm.

Called mom on my drive home. Hadn’t talked with her in a couple weeks. She shared that she’s slated for a stress test on Friday and then provided the results are good, then out-patient surgery the following Monday to perform a biopsy on her bladder or kidney.

At home, Bella had little to share about her first day of school, but promised to share more come dinner time. She was zonked and slumbering on the sofa. Jacob was at soccer practice. Mindy made steak fajitas for dinner using the leftover steak from CBC. They were very good. After dinner, Bella went back to the sofa and promptly fell asleep. Mindy and I agreed that she might very well be down for the count. That ended up being the case sans a brief respite before heading upstairs to bed.

I headed to bed around 930pm but couldn’t sleep and ended up back downstairs after 10pm. Bella, after sleeping all evening, ended up downstairs with me. She headed back to bed two or three times only to return. I ended back in bed near 11pm.
