Contacting Bella

I woke near 640am still a little tired after a late night and beers the night before. However, after calisthenics and coffee I felt just fine. Went through my usual routine: coffee, internet, meditation, stretching and a run. Thinking it was near 8am by the time I headed out. Ran a shirtless 4.1 miles. Felt good.

Back home I whipped up some eggs and toast and then packed a lunch. Off to the shower around 905am. Left for work around 940am. It was nice and sunny, and we were expecting a high near 80. Arrived across town near 10am and was quickly settled in and busy. Fairly quiet day from a face-to-face personal interaction perspective but not from an action perspective. Joined a couple conference calls and accomplished lots. Stayed busy, worked straight through the work day.

Bella and Mindy had eye exams scheduled with Dr. Julie, and I am pretty sure that their appointment was late in the afternoon. Talked with Mindy around 4pm. Bella got contacts for the first time. Diagnosed as near sighted. She’d have the next several days to try them out, each day wearing them longer than the day before.

I was actually home from work before the two of them. Pretty sure that Mindy dropped Jacob at soccer practice on the way to their eye exam. Jim was by to pick-up Bella around 5pm. We didn’t plan for a date night since we were out the night before. Relaxing at home was just what the doctor ordered. I played, napped and read.

Sometime that evening Mindy reminded me that she’d be at school retreat the following day and needed me to work from home to keep an eye on Bella. Until the reminder, I’d forgotten all about it. I planned to send my boss an email early Thursday AM letting him know not to expect me in the office. And since I need to be in the office two days a week, I thought I might work from the office on Friday.

Off to bed well ahead of 10pm.
